Tried to download windows media player 11 and IE 7, but it said to check if my windows is genuine? -

I bought my PC used and do not know if it is genuine. If I try to install these 2 items, will it take my windows away if it isnt genuine. Or can/will anything else happen?

all it will do is check the OS to see if it really is a licenced copy of windows otherwise it will probably tell you to get a licenced copy it wont erase anything it checks this with an active x control so make sure you allow it

if its genuine, go to windows update for those and other updates. if no soap take the pc back.

No your windows stays just let you or not to download updates.
