How do i install windows 7 to a 16gb partition on my hard drive?? dual boot with xp..? -

i boot from the disk n everything is normal but when it asks where you want to install it says cannot install to this location... the partition is completely empty n formatted but it says that can only install to my existing partition with windows xp which i dont want . please help how to install to the free partition.. thanks

It is hard to find requirements for win 7 but see the link below. It says it requires 16GB disk space. It could be that it is very precise about the disk space and only sees your free space as 15.99 GB? Try to expand the partition and see what happens.
