Either back-up your drive first or get a program like Acronis to re-partition your drive if you have enough space for two Operating systems but I wouldn t suggest risking that option if you are not very computer saavy.

you can do it by making an other partition of your HDD and then install it there. or try the software like VMware for running multiple operating systems in same HDD
You can t run Windows on just any external hard drive from what I ve read. I think it may need to be bootable.
Create a second partition on your HD and install it to the second partition. When your PC boots you will be prompted to choose which OS to boot into.
