Windows 7 public beta testing? -

will i get a free product key if i test the public beta of Windows 7 and report at least one bug like they did Windows vista

it s Microsoft...Bill wants every penny man

Free? Nothing is free. The beta only lasts until August.

Okay, here we go. No, you won t get one if you test the beta and report a bug, but the good news is that Microsoft is giving away free product keys for Windows 7 Beta 1 anyways. You download the ISO, burn to DVD and install it. You can use it for 30 days without the key, but you can make it 120 days if you open up the command utility as an administrator and type in quot;slmgr -rearmquot; (without the quotes). Now, to get a product key you need to have a Windows Live account. Go to http://technet.microsoft.com/ and log in using said Live account. Then PASTE (don t just click it) one of the following links into the same window you used to log in. If you re using a 32-bit computer: https://www.microsoft.com/betaexperience... If you re using a 64-bit computer: https://www.microsoft.com/betaexperience... (Note: It doesn t really matter which one you choose, as a 32-bit product key will work for a 64-bit computer and vice versa.) When you get to the product key page, be sure to print out the page for a personal record (a no-brainer, I m sure) and go over the installation instructions after you click the download link. If you re not looking to do a clean install and wish to upgrade your computer, you can only do so if you have Vista SP1 installed. Install 7, enter the key and enjoy the best OS Microsoft has spit out to date (even if it s still only a beta).

I dont think anyone knows that. Maybe you should contact them and ask

No... last year (in 2008) Co-Workers Of Bill Gates s MICROSOFT Caught heaps of people doing that!! Bill stated that nobody will be getting a free product key for anything from then on!!
