jlman amp; Constromlie - That s just when the BETA ends, not when the product ships... As a provisional date from Microsoft; within the first couple of months of 2010, though from reliable sources, apparently new systems will be shipped with Windows 7 starting from the end of this year, it s just the disk version we ll have to wait till 2010 for; quot;Final (RTM) version will be created and given to producers in November 2009. By the Christmas holidays of 2009 it will be possible to buy PCs preloaded with Windows 7, boxed sales will begin in early 2010.quot; Though i don t think this has actually been confirmed by Microsoft, it seems reasonable. (I ve got to say i too love Windows 7; I downgraded back to XP when i bought a Vista machine, but i m sticking with Windows 7 now)
I agree that Windows 7 is amazing but why have Microsoft kept that annoying UAC feature (the worst feature of Vista) and disabled the ability to run Windows on a stand alone Administrator Account (one of the best features of Vista).
Apparently it is supposed to come out August of 2009 but that can change all depending on the quality of the product at that time.
The final should be out on August 2009, but that is subject to change.
Probably in a year or so.
Last I heard was 1st qtr 2010 but they always push it back farther.
