He needs to have the disk in the drive when he boots up. if that doesn t work prehaps the disk is broken. You can t install from the desktop. And he wants to install windows 7 onto his computer, not ubuntu
If he has a line on the screen, chances are his graphics processor is not supported by Windows 7. If his graphics card/processor isn t supported, be aware a virtual machine will not work either.
