Why did windows explorer 7 slow my pc down? -

Can anyone answer this question please?...One of the web sites recommended I install windows exlorer 7 to operate it sufficiently, but when I did, all my other work was slowed down dramatically, so I had to remove it, Does anyone know why it slowed my laptop down so much? Got a Compaq Presario Celeron Pentium and XP.

Remember the more you install the less disc space. Mind you you are using XP that is Obsolete in 2010. Vista is now faster since the free service packs.

int exp 7 slows down a pc only if you download it from unknown owners. the best thing to do is remove it and download int exp 8 from microsoft website. moreover try not to use int explorer. use firefox instead. it prevents all pop ups from opening unlike int explorer 7 or over.

Well, you should get firefox

This is how to fix the problem. Open notepad and paste the code below in it. Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00 [HKEY_CURRENT_USERSoftwareMicrosoftWin... Settings] “MaxConnectionsPerServer”=dword:000000... “MaxConnectionsPer1_0Server”=dword:000... Save the file by clicking save as, change Save as type to All Files, name the file IEfaster.reg. Now, merge that registry setting to registry by double clicking file IEfaster.reg and Click Yes on the dialog that appear. Restart your computer and done. So there you have it. With these few changes you can really change the performance of Internet Explorer. If you want a completely better experience give Firefox a try or Google Chrome instead. You won’t be disappointed.
