Buy vista now or wait for windows 7? -

I have a dell Dimension 4550 but suspects it s time for something new. I run internet, office files (home based business) and photos etc. Question is do I buy now and move to Vista (I ve heard al the terrible things) or wait until 2010 for Windows 7? Any advice greatly appreciated!

wait for windows 7

Vista is fine. It was a bit buggy at first, but if you buy a new PC with Vista installed on it you won t have any problems. The majority of the complaints come from people who install it on old hardware that s really not fast enough, or those who are frustrated by the new interface. Windows 7 is still in beta, and the release date will probably slip. And after Windows 7 comes out, people will complain about how horrible it is and say that Vista is much better or that you should wait for Windows 8. That s what always happens. All the stuff people say about Vista was said about XP when it came out - it was buggy, bloated, had a bad interface etc. If you need a new PC, just go ahead and get one with Vista. Make sure you get at least a dual core processor (quad core is better) and 2+ GB of RAM.

If you need a new pc, then Vista is fine - go for home premium not home basic. The hardware of a new Vista PC will be of higher spec than an XP model and will run Windows 7 if you later decide to upgrade. If you wait a while, you may find Vista pcs being sold with future upgrades to Win7 included, either free or at a discount. The upgrade path for Vista Home Premium will be (it is believed) Windows 7 Home Premium.

If you haven t moved to Vista yet, then just wait. Vista is fine if you have a fast enough computer. some of that well be fixed in Windows 7, but by them most people well have a faster computer.

Might as well wait and save the dough.

vista is fine since sp1 all the terrible things about vista are from all xp users that are afraid of change

Wait for Windows 7 which should be out in 2009.

Dont buy anything. Download it.
