Internet Explorer should be on your computer already (it s the blue quot;equot; with a yellow streak around it). However, if you don t have it, the link to the download is here:http://www.microsoft.com/windows/product...

Windows 7 Printer Problems? -
Just right-click on the setup file and click on quot;Properties.quot; Then select the quot;compatibilityquot; tab. Select the quot;Run this program in compatibility mode for:quot; and choose Vista. Click quot;OK.quot; Now, right-click on the file and select quot;Run as administrator.quot; It should run fine!!!
Okay, first of wall why would you put windows 7 on a primary computer especially if it warns you to not do that on the install?
Depends on the Windows 7 Build.

Does anyone know when I can buy a Windows 7 laptop in the UK? -
I ve seen people on eBay selling laptops with W7 installed, but its still only the BETA version of Windows 7 that will expire in Aug as Microsoft havent released it yet for retail If you want to try it out just download the BETA from Microsoft, i think theres a few days left to try it im not sure as they had a deadline for downloads otherwise wait until its released either this year or early 2010
Windows 7 has not been released yet, only the first test (beta) copy. Don t expect to be able to buy it until at least Christmas this year.
You can t windows 7 is still in beta testing and has not been released yet
yes, you can buy one from a windows 7 laptop shop

I accidentally uninstalled windows internet explorer 7 on microsoft vista and i cant install it back...? -
IE 7 is full of bugs and will get you viruses, use firefox. its much better and safer
Your IE7 is probably still there but you cannot find its icon. I simply cannot believe that you ve managed to uninstall it, certainly not quot;accidentallyquot;. Before going through potentially risky setup procedures that eventually will lead you to an expensive quot;IT consultantquot; you should re-evaluate your situation and ask for help on how to restore the IE7 icon on your menus/desktop.
run windows setup again, either through control pannel or using the vista cd...
just download it from any other computer and install it on your computer again
click in run and type iexplore thas it
Mac OS or Windows 7 or Windows Vista Black Edition 2009? -
Better stick with Vista since Windows 7 is still in it s beta stage. But if youi re the type who wants to test the new OS, provide feedbacks, then Windows 7 would be your choice. Btw, there s no black edition for Windows Vista. i m assuming that is a customized version of Vista .. be careful though in installing those customized OS .. there s always a possibility that the person who made that injected a backdoor program or something. stick with the original OS ;)
Will windows 7 be as antipiracy as vista is ? -
its like 100 something but ok OS X is better
Im installing Windows 7 on a new hard drive for my laptop... how can I format this blank drive in NTFS? NO OS? -
I have not used the windows 7 install disk but if it like the other windows install disks you should be able to select that partition (if it over 16GB) or delete the current partition and use the whole hard drive. When it asks about format say yes NTFS. It will format the entire drive and you are on your way. If you have only 1 partition on the drive it will be a primary partition and you can format it to any file system you want, like NTFS. If you want to try another program (free) try gparted. It will partition format and more.
Then there is a problem, as on installation, a blank drive will be formatted as appropriate for the Operating System during the set-up phase.

Can I Dual Boot XP and with Windows 7 from my External Hard drive? -
it needs to be Internal you need to upgrade your laptop hard drive it wont install on a external one.
Here is a guide to booting Windows 7 from an external HDD: http://www.istartedsomething.com/2008110... I cannot vouch for the guide’s validity because it is not a Microsoft site, but based on the comments it looks like it works. Jeff Windows Outreach Team
Im running windows vista 32 bit and itunes 7.6 and have a ipod nano, what is the best way to safely eject? -

Does the PC Version of Final Fantasy 7 and 8 work on a Windows Vista? -
It takes a bit more work, but it can be done. Head over to IGN s messageboards, to All Games (Free) -gt; Final Fantasy. There s a thread there by Whogie that explains the few extra steps needed to get them to work in Vista that weren t needed for XP.
i really dont think so i have mine on windows xp but i believe they still havent made one for vista yet
Is the Windows 7 beta safe? -
beta means that it is still in the testing stages. that s why you see ie; versions 2.3 - 2.4 and so on. they are working out the bugs that aren t compatible with some programs. it s safe to run but depending on what you want to run on your pc you may or may not be able to. i have windows 7 with a vista transformation pack which is free. windows xp stability with the look and feel of vista.
yes it is safe
im using it right now and it is fast and safe but MICROSOFT says its going to be faster
After Windows 7 BETA runs out, will it just revert to vista? -
You absolutely need to back up when installing a beta version. They have been known to do things like destroy drive partitions and delete all data from drives. Once the beta is expired you ll have to install a fresh OS.
Hp laserjet P1005 drivers for windows 7? -
The fact that its Windows 7 BETA. There will be almost no specified driver support. Nothing you can do, but try using vista drivers if possible.
Actually, you can get this to work. Download the quot;full packagequot; drivers from HP. Unzip them (i.e., let it try to install). Go to quot;Devices and Printersquot; in Control Panel Click quot;Add Printerquot; Click quot;Have Diskquot; after the ports and direct it to hpljp1005.inf where it unzipped Done! Report Abuse
Windows 7 is the new OS due for release in 2010........with all the problems with vista..will u? -
Jamesy - you asked for one, so I ll give you one - the file handling. It s shoddy and slow. As for windows 7 - depends if the touch-screen is an option. I don t want to be poking at the pretty pictures like some form of retarded ape - it s ineffieicent. Provided they give command-line alternatives, I ll consider it. EDIT: Jamesy; just compare the file copy speed either over a network, or onto a USB stick. No magic involved - Vista ius just sloooow. SP1 is supposed to address this. EDIT: Jamesy, just because you, personally, have experienced no problems does not mean they do not occur. Your sample size (one) is too small to form a broad opinion. I ve seen more than a few Vista boxes (as I have to repair them). The file copying is certainly an issue, as it a bizarre and unpredictable inability to detect certain wireless networks, on a seemingly random basis. I don t actually hate Vista - but if you re going to blame performance issues on hardware, then even you have to give that MS brought the problem on themselves, to an extent, by dropping the recommended specs in order to help Intel ship their older units. Furthermore, I don t wish to be told when I have to upgrade my hardware - which MS is effectively doing by pulling XP from general sale. Overall, I simply don t think Vista offers enough to justify forcing the nation to upgrade all of its computers. There is literally nothing you can t do on XP, that Vista magically allows you to accomplish. Vista s OK, once you disable UAC (which is totally unneccassary for the average domestic box). However, I ll probably skip it, and wait for Windows 7 - simply because the new OS is written from scratch, whereas Vista is yet another layer of cruft on the mouldy old ball of code that started with NT. EDIT: Also, your comments about Linux merely confirm that you ve never actually bothered to use it.
Since I was smart enough to read the PC World articles about Vista for months in advance, I don t even own Vista yet and don t plan to until I have to buy a new computer. Each of us should learn to separate the industry-driven product hype from the reality of what s in a product. Microsoft just shuffles the OS like a deck of cards, adds a few bells and whistles, puts a new package over it and then hypes it way out of proportion so the uninformed will buy it. And they do. nuff said.
What problems with Vista might these be? I have had enough of people banging on about Vistas problems without actually specifying a single one.. Yeah, it looks pretty and so it uses a little more memory, it s not the end of the fu*king world.. You know, when XP was released, people were still using like 64/128MB of RAM, so is it any wonder it uses less memory than Vista? I have used it for about nine months now, in that time I have not had one problem caused by it. This far and away makes it the most stable and compatible operating sytem I have ever used. Hell, do you remember Windows 98? When do you think the BSOD rose to infamy? Windows XP was a big bundle of security holes upon release. It was positively lame pre SP2. Oh, and when it was released everyone banged on about it s memory usage. As for Windows 7, it all depends. It s most touted feature is it s fancy touchscreen interface. I am not sure how that is going to pan out. Can t see it be a reality for anyone but laptop/tablet pc users. Still, it s exciting for those who welcome progress. ADD Medium Dave, saying that does not magically make it so... How is the file handling shoddy? It may be slightly slower than xp but it s all relative as XP was designed for slower hardware. Vista is a new OS for new hardware. I use two 500MB drives in raid0 as my primary disk and its performance is very fast, a lot faster than any XP system I have used. ADD Actually Dave, my computer sits happily on a network connected to three systems running XP, two network printers and a NAS device. I had absolutely zero trouble getting it setup up and working on the network and by a long margin it is the fastest system to copy files from and too. Because of Vista? No, probably not but the modern os goes hand in hand with modern hardware. As for the USB issues. I have never experienced them, I max out the bandwidth of usb while transferring files to and from USB devices. Here s a clue for Vista haters. Don t install it on your four year old laptop... -- To the Linux monkey. If all I wanted to use my computer for was a bit of word processing and some browsing then I agree, Linux would be a great option. Unfortunately because I do a lot more, it s woefully inadequate. To use it with modern hardware is like buying a mansion and then living out of one small room.
when they released that piece of crap vista i have switched to ubuntu linux on my desktop p/cs and am working on getting both my wireless laptops running linux. i don t plan on ever buying any windows op sys again ever. especially since dell and sears and walmart now sell computers with linux on them also ibm computers are available with linux. if more of you windows user see the linux light more computer makers will sell linux machines.
I couldnt possibly say, seeing as I ve never used it (its not even in public testing yet). Micro$oft might have learned from their mistakes with vista (although thats probably very doubtful seeing as vista was in development for almost 7 years)
like any other windows ill wait till at least 7.1
MAYBE BUT THE ADVANCE NEWS IS IT WILL B TOUCH SCREEN TECH SO U WILL NEED A NEW MONITOR
What does Windows Vista means? amp; What is Windows 7? -
a vista is a view, it is named that because the Aero interface looks so good. Windows Vista has some serious problems, mainly in hardware/ driver compatibility. Service pack 1 took care of the worst (my 64 wasn t bad) Windows 7 looks like it will be an upgraded Vista, hopefully without the problems, but it is still in beta. and is likely to have its own teething problems.
windows 7 is a new operating system in testing right now its in beta testing you can actually download it off the internet from microsoft to take for a test drive like they do vista go to google type in windows 7 or go to microsoft.com search windows 7 vista is a new operating system that was released 2 or 3 years ago after windows xp example windows 98, windows ME windows XP windows Vista next.... Windows 7
windows vista is currently Microsofts latest opperating system before vista there was windows xp and depending on how old your computer is chances are your running xp.. windows 7 is only a beta which means it hasnt been released yet. it will be Microsofts newest opperating system
For me VISTA is perfect. I am testing Windows 7 nd it ia about thesame for my simple needs. It will have a new name when released VSTA is Windows 6 actually,ie, the sixth versiion released.
They are types of OS Windows Vista is after Windows XP and Windows 7 i think is still in open beta [idk] and is after WIndows Vista
Windows Vista is the Operating System that followed XP, and Windows 7 is the operating system that follows Vista.
I really think vista is to slow, internet explorer 7 is much better,,, there is no internet explorer 7 beta but there is beta 8 silly answers...........
2 different computer programs. windows 7 is the newest one
My predecessors are correct, and if I may elaborate on the 7 beta, DO NOT download it. It s buggy as hell.
They are kinds of operating systems.
3 of the person before me is right

After the Windows 7 Beta expires what happens to my Windows XP? -
If you install the beta then when it expires you won t have a working OS. You ll need to format your hard drive and install a clean new OS.
don t download unless you have a windows xp disk!!!!!!!!!! I thought about this long and hard and you shouldn t do anything unless you have a xp disk cheers
Can i reformat my computer with windows 7 beta? -
I installed W7 by itself two days ago. My McAfee anti virus did not work wither when I tried to install it. So I downloaded AVG which works fine. Open Office works great too. All my USB ports worked great. Then I deleted it and loaded VISTA and got all the updates etc. Right now I am loading W7 again but keeping ability to revert to VISTA. I started with a new hard drive on my extra Laptop keeping my initial VISTA HD safely put away. Just playing with this one.
all the things you want to do can be done with the windows 7 cd for the mice you might need to download the driver for the anti virus norton 09 works the old ones don t im sure more do but i use that one and it works great yes you can format with the windows 7 cd and create or delete portions you don t need the xp cd to do portions.
yeap
Is it worth getting the Windows 7 Beta? -
http://blogs.zdnet.com/Bott/?p=613
i do not know ask an expert.
It is worth it as long as you know what you are doing it, try to create a second partition on your hard drive and then install it there with your windows 7 beta cd through windows vista (like any other normal program) then select the partition you created and it will automatically create a dual boot. That is the safest way to do it without losing your files.
you will lose all your files it is not out yet and yes it is vvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvv worth getting it !! i am lol ! hope it helps !! fred !
Ok i have heard from a VERY smart pc tech in my town that Beta 7 is better then vista according to him, i haven t actually had a big play with it yet need to find an old hard drive out that actually works to install it on but on my virtual machine it looked promising!
no its not
Obviously, being a beta version there will be glitches here and there at all levels. Plus you re downloading it at your own risk. I never trust beta versions. Let someone else be the guinea pig.
If you are using Vista I would definitely suggest looking into it, but if you are using XP and it is your only computer you might think twice. With me.. I am planning on putting on my laptop because if I don t like it I can play with my desktop while I reinstall XP.
Is it possible to install the Windows 7 Beta iso from an SD card? -
If your bios detects your sd card ,you can do install Windows 7 from your SD card
Uninstall windows 7 from dual boot? -
format the hard drive that it is on boot xp like you said you have duall boot go to the other hd and click format
Can I run Windows 7 64-bit with 2gb of ram and an 8gb Readyboost? -
I don t think so. I think you re best off upgrading your RAM, or sticking with 32-bit ;). I m currently running Win7 32-bit, and haven t noticed much of a difference between it and 64.
I have a friend who is running 64bit on a dual core with 2 gigs, but he is running it on a split config boot on partition on his harddrive, you should be ok, but programs will be slow! and it will freeze a good bit!

How soon to expect Windows 7 drivers? -
first of all your cd/dvd drive could be faulty not reading the disk so test that first, as you said you had been having problems before with it,, next if you have installed win 7 I hope you read all the instructions and did a back up of your computer system if you didn t you could be in trouble reinstalling your old system, the installed hardware driver with windows 7 should be good enough to boot your system as when it is installing it goes on the net and does a systems update downloading new drivers if they are not on the dvd disk at the time you made it..
Hard to tell. Beta means the OS is not ready for use and it is in test phase. Not to mention it just came out for public beta meaning the manufacturers are still working on the drivers. Dont get ahead of yourself.
There are already some drivers for Windows 7: http://www.microsoft.com/hardware/window... Hope it helps, Andre http://www.pbnet.ro
Windows 7 download no piracy sites? -
Emailing 3 GB, your insane And Microsoft just discontinued the beta downloads, so your gonna have to ask a geeky friend for disk, you will find one eventually.
well you can t download it anymore from microsoft so the only way you can get it is via torrent
Not that I condone torrents in this case I think it would be OK seeing as the software is free anyway. In this answer I must point out that I strongly condemn any kind of software piracy. LUg.

If i downloaded windows 7? -
I would only go to Windows 7 if you had a reason, especially since its a beta and it will not function after august. The only way to get back to Vista would be to reformat your hard drive. I loaded it to a slave hard drive so that i could keep my main OS. I had to install it for my college class. (Operating Systems)
Hi xxsomeonexx, I’m Ron, a member of the Windows Outreach Team. I thought I’d stop in and drop off a link for dual-booting. If that’s what you decide to do, this guide will definitely help out. Here’s the link: http://windowshelp.microsoft.com/Windows... Also, here’s a general link to the FAQ, download and other info: http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windows... Like I tell everyone, it’s a Beta, so be sure to have a backup plan when the Beta ends. You’ll want to make sure you’re ready to be up and running again after the Beta ends on Aug. 1, 2009. Cheers, Ron Windows Outreach Team
Do not download Windows 7 over Vista. I advise that you retain Vista and download and install Windows 7 to another partition on your discs.
I need to get a windows 7 beta disc in my eee pc 2g surf from my hp vista desktop computer how do i do this ? -
There actually is another to do it. You can use mounting software to mount the image. There are a ton of software that can do this such as: MagicDisc - http://www.magiciso.com/tutorials/miso-m... Daemon Tools - http://www.filehippo.com/download_daemon... Note: Daemon Tools doesn t work in Windows 7 yet, but you will be able to mount the Windows 7 ISO within Vista and install it.
1) mininova.org - Download Windows 7 Beta 2) Burn it on a DVD 3) Pop it in, run. -------- If you don t have a DVD burner, then you can purchase a 2nd DVD burner that you can plug in via USB. Since you said you didn t want that option..possible you could put Windows 7 Beta onto a USB flash drive (root folder) and try to boot it from there. Good luck..
A. not possible w/o a USB CD drive B. there is NO WAY Windows 7 will run on a low end Eee. It takes just as much resources as Vista. If you want to test it out, use the desktop.
Why do I have trouble running Windows Internet Explorer 7? -
It s a beta program. Beta programs have issues. It could just be a bug with your specific configuration. Either file a bug report with Microsoft if you can figure out it s actually a bug, either that, or you need to switch back to your previous browser.
I have had the same problems with IE7 and it will not let me restore to my previous versions (system restore does not work to dates prior to its installation).. I installed Mozilla Firefox... IE7 has a LOT of issues as far as I can see.. I can use it for many things but it is a real pain for others... on one web page where I was taking a test it gave me quot;do you want this site to access your cachequot; kind of messages EVERY time I moved my mouse!!!! I had to answer this question (or hit the X) about 10 to 15 times every time I moved the mouse and wanted to answer the next question!!!... took me 90 minutes to answer a 40 question test!!... OH.. and that was AFTER I disabled the quot;phishingquot; filters and much of the other security in it.
try to uninstall it and re-install again...could just be a glitch in the install.
Um.... is this a joke? lol
It really shouldn t affect getting on the internet. What happens when you try.... what OS are you using, how much memory do you have.... need more info. Are you on cable, DSL or dial-up
When I installed ie 7 ALL of my internet properties were set back to default go to the tools and internet properties and reset them the way they were before. It took me 2 days to fix mine.
Is there any way to hack windows 7 beta so it stays installed on my computer? -
Thats illegal, so don t ask. It will expire in August, then you can buy it when it is ready.
LOL. betas have so many bugs, and holes so if your gonna do that, your screwed...You can do that if you want, but I dont know how..soon there will probably be ways to hack it, but it just recently came out. I highly dont recommend that because it is illegal, unsafe for your computer, and why would you want a beta that has a lot of holes and bugs
Yes, It is a illegal to do that but there are torrents that are activators in piratebay.org and such but i rather not do :D.But its your choose.Right now I m using the 30 day...
You have until August i think. You can get the keys from microsoft.com and it will be good for half a year. Its plenty of time. No need to worry now. =)..

Is there any chance of Windows 7 is 2009? -
MS is trying to hurry it along, i wouldn t be suprised if it came out this year.
Microsoft say they re going to miss beta stage 2 and release windows 7 towards the end of 2009 or early 2010 they say beat 1 is stable and ready for release but don t hold your breath vista was 3 years late
A 2009 release is likely, as I m sure they want to leave the embarrassment of Vista behind them.
There is more than a chance. It is scheduled to be released June 2009 and they are already doing Beta testing, so I already have Windows 7. Even if it gets delayed I would be surprised if it got delayed all the way into 2010.
I ve been testing it for a while now amp; I don t find it buggy at all. If Vista had been released in as good a state as the beta is I think all us windows fans would have been clambering over eachother to get a copy of it! It s more stable than Vista now amp; in my opinion almost as stable as XP. From what I can see a 2009 release is highly likely, especially since the release candidate is out in July/August. Windows 7 is everything that Vista should have been and, in all honesty, has converted me from Xp. Fingers crossed for a release by the end of the year!
I ve had the beta build 7000, no problems. The beta expires in August, so it might be early 2010.
Now that I have windows 7 how do i uninstall it? -
Insert Your Operating system disc... Windows XP/ Vista Go to bios and set boot from your DVD Drive Afterwards select the partititon that has Windows 7 and click delete and then you can re-install Windows Vista. Hope it helps
Windows 7 is still in beta testing. Why did you install it over Vista on your live system??? You re supposed to install it on a test system. Hope you will learn by your mistake!! You ll need to wipe the hard drive and reinstall Vista now. You should have got a recovery disk with your computer when you bought it and you ll need to use that to restore your computer. If you don t have a recovery disk then I m afraid you re screwed. You might be able to get a recovery disk from the manufacturer.
Guys, you can t uninstall a OS buy Add/Remove. You are gonna have to reinstall Vista.
Control panel add/remove programmes.
maybe try add /remove programs or reinstall vista
Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\Recovery click restore u should be fine!!
How can i load windows 7 on my acer 4002LCi? -
Windows 7 will not load on any computer of that spec. What is on the pendrive? Just the ISO file of the DVD? You cannot boot from that without first being able to mount the DVD image as a readable drive. And you can t do that without an OS on the target machine. You need to create the pendrive as a bootable media. Google is your friend for this.
Why is it i cant uninstall nero 7 on windows vista? -
If you can t delete it from the Add/remove programs or from the Nero Uninstall utility listed in the Programs list for Nero, try deleting it manually. Delete the Nero folder in C:\Program Files and then run RegSeeker and CCleaner to clean up most of the remnants. Trying to get Nero working under Vista is no longer a frustrating hit-and-miss affair. An update ( http://www.nero.com/ena/downloads-nero7-... ) just posted to nero.com enhances the current (and rather ridiculously-named) Nero 7 Premium Reloaded edition with a 150MB dollop of Vista-friendly goodness. Alternately, once you ve gotten Nero install and it doesn t run on Vista, try right-clicking on the executable file, selecting Properties then the Compatibility tab. Check box and select to have it run as Win XP. I don t use Vista so these instructions may be incorrect. General System Requirements for Nero 8: DVD-ROM drive for the installation Windows? 2000 (SP4 or later), Windows? XP (SP1 or later), Windows? Server? 2003 (SP1 or later), Windows? XP Media Center Edition Windows Vista? Gadgets are not available for Windows Vista? x64 Nero ImageDrive currently supports Windows? 2000 and Windows? XP (32 Bit only) Additional requirements for Nero 8: http://www.nero.com/eng/nero8-system-req... Ron
i have the same error .. a friend of mine tolds me start/run/regedit (clasic view) (registry) search for nero and delete all files control panel / and unistall programs find nero and use remove. im not in my home ..so plz aswer if this way is correct ( sorry for my bad english )
Upgrade to Nero8..Here is the link to the upgrade http://infolib.qckbuy.com/nero.php

Help with Windows Beta 7? -
Hey lars- Jeff here with the Windows Outreach Team. I am not tech support so I do not have an exact technical answer to your question, but I have some things to look into. First, look at this Toshiba driver download page. You may be able to find the right driver here: http://www.csd.toshiba.com/cgi-bin/tais/... . I know this is a Vista driver page, but drivers that work for Vista should work for Windows 7 as well. If that does not help, try asking this question at Microsoft s QnA site. Here is that link as well: http://qna.live.com/Search.aspx?tag=wind... . Thanks for being a beta tester. From the articles I have seen, people are generally very pleased with Windows 7, especially for only being a beta. Best, Jeff Windows Outreach Team
Why are you trying to install the beta 7 version - I have heard it s a complete nightmare and lots of websites etc do not load, and lots more issues with it. And you are already having problems - its my guess you ll be uninstalling it within days - I d be interested in seeing an update here if you do. You can google the driver and get that if you need to. Good luck with it.
Will my files be deleted if i install windows 7 beta? -
if you are upgrading from vista sp1 then no, its an upgrade. But make sure to back up anyway.. You will not be able to uninstall windows 7 though, you will have to install your current OS when 7 expires.
Yes, Microsoft recommend to istall Windows 7 on a seperate computer. Windows 7 beta is for IT professionals for testing. It is not finished and has many bugs. Microsoft says quot;It can be glitchy—so don t use a PC you need every day.quot; If you want to install Windows 7 you have to answer this question with yes. You re [almost] flying solo: you ll need to troubleshoot problems yourself and call on other Beta testers for their know-how. Also this beta is thought for IT Pros, Developers and Press. MFG Daniel
Create a new hard drive, on your computer. (This can be done by splitting a chunk of your unused hard drive and making a new one with however much space you split.) You need to create a hard drive of at least 16-gig because thats how much win 7 needs. I would back up important files though (just in case) Hope I helped!

Are you mad about windows 7 coming out so soon after vista? -
Sadly there will be no free upgrade to windows 7 but windows 7 is basicly windows vista but with less problem s. also there will be a servicepack upgrade prob 2 that will take care of a TON of problems not the same thing but close. and u think vista isnt cheap wait for 7! Also it s not coming out till late 2010. also if theres any set packs with problems u prob won t see it till 2011 but hopefully 2010 it comes out and this vista problem will be gone.! but ya it angers me rlly badly because as u did i just bought a brand new laptop!
don`t bother me,i didn`t buy vista,lol
How to i get to the TCP/IP internet protocol menu in Windows 7? -
Its pretty much the same as it is in Vista. Just go into the quot;network and sharing centerquot;, then click quot;Change adapter settingsquot;. right click on the network device you want to change and click quot;Propertiesquot;. And going by the pick you posted your looking for the regular old TCP/IPv4. So just right click on the one that says quot;Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4)quot; and click quot;Propertiesquot;. and thats it. Hope this helps.
Will Windows 7 run DOS programs easily? -
No, support for native DOS has been completely phased out. As you are probably already aware, the command prompt in Windows is NOT DOS, though it does function in a similar manner. To the best of my knowledge, though, there will never again be native support for DOS or DOS-based applications. As the previous poster noted, you can use the emulator DOSbox, which I used myself and have found to be a very competent emulator, though certain more advanced games may not run as well. Be aware also that when you configure the emulator, you re actually telling it how many processor cycles and how much RAM you want it to suck away from Windows processes. If you run DOSbox by itself, it s not really an issue, but if you want to run it in conjunction with your normal Windows programs, it can be a performance issue depending on what you re doing at the time. I am probably going to be installing the Windows 7 beta sometime this week. If I discover anything different, I ll try to update this answer. I hope this helps. If you need additional computer assistance, please consider supporting me on-line at http://www.supportspace.com/support/expe... or visiting my blog on MySpace at http://www.myspace.com/the_pc_ally .
I opened the CP easily enough to type net user administrator /active:yes before pressing ENTER and restarting the computer so the Command Prompt definitely works but not sure about running full DOS programs as I ve never needed to.
It won t. Most DOS programs are 16-bit, which 7 cuts support off. However, the best thing to do is try using Dosbox.
Probably not, but you could just use dosbox http://dosbox.com/
If Windows 7 came from Vista, then why is there still Vista? -
Because Vista is a truly great operating system. I ve been running Vista Ultimate for 2 years now with not even the slightest problem. Cleaner, sleeker user interface.......wide driver support........much faster bootup time than XP, and so forth. Just because they re working on Windows 7 doesn t mean you get rid of the operating system that W7 is based off of. Microsoft didn t get rid of NT just because they were working on Windows 2000 and they didn t get rid of 2000 just because they were coming up with XP. (By the way, why would you ask this question in a religion amp; spirituality forum?)
Yes why is there still a Vista, in fact I m really puzzled why there s still a windows at all.
I ******* hate Vista. I m stuck with it though because my school doesn t work with any other system.
Windows 7? -
Is Windows 7 even in a public beta stage yet? I m pretty sure it isn t. If you re looking for a computer operating system, try Ubuntu Linux. It s free and quot;givesquot; you the internet, word processors, video players, etc. http://www.ubuntu.com
March 21, 2006 Microsoft is planning to ship its next major version of Windows--known internally as version quot;7quot;--within roughly three years, CNET News.com has learned. And a 17-Gig hard disk wouldn t be big enough to hold the operating system and all the stuff you d start adding. Try 80-120 Gig and you might make it. Windows 7 is not even close to the Beta stage yet.
Internet 7 Windows closing- Has anyone else had this problem??????????? -
Go to windows updates to make sure you have the newest version available. If you haven t update for 6 months you don t have the newest one
I tried Internet 7 but i hated it but maybe u could try reinstalling the software!
reinstall all, your infected!
What I would do is try to run internet explorer without add-ins, some of the add-ins makeit crash, even if you have the most up-2-date version. I had alot of problems with the Java add ins , so you might want to try that, you can edit the add-ins in the tools toolbar once you get it loaded up.
How does the touch-screen in Windows 7 work? -

Windows 7 : Screen Resolution? -
You need to update your video driver. After you do that, reboot the machine. When it comes back up, right click any empty spot on your desktop and choose quot;Resolutionquot;, and it should allow you to do it. Hope that helps

Your feed back on Windows 7 beta so far? -
Not Linux BUT by far the closest you will get from Microsoft. 1. Yes well worth downloading and installing http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windows... 2. No problems at all, exceptional Hardware detection. 3. Runs very smoothly, is stable and blisteringly fast ! 4. User interface is well thought out and easy to navigate. Looks very cool as well if that is important. If you have a spare Hard Drive or don t mind creating a partition then you can enjoy Windows like never before. I just hope Microsoft don t mess it up between now and the Final Release. Oh I forgot to mention I am usually a Linux user so my answer is not biased in any way. LUG.
it appears to be a much friendler system than vista yes there are problems 1.yes 2.yes 3.yes. 4.the interface is easy to use 5.its ME XP and Vista rolled into one and you can still use win 95 programmes
looks like vista runs fine but it is bata and it will have problems that why people are testing it to fix problems i put it on dual boot system so i can use vista as needed
Unpacking Windows 7 build 6801? -
Winrar doesn work well? try tugzip http://www.filehippo.com/software/compre...
Can u show me each single step to install window 7? -
Follow these instructions: http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windows...
The installation process will mostly work on its own, but it will also have instructions along the way, for any choices you need to select. If you ve backed up your files, just try it. It s not difficult.
After installing Windows 7 beta, I want to go back to XP. How? -
If you used dual boot to boot to xp or windows 7, then just choose windowx xp on the list. Or delete the partition. Insert your windows xp disk and reboot (you must set your bios to boot from disk). There will be an option wherein you can delete partitions, delete the partition where you installed windows 7 and reboot your computer.
just use a formatting tool like gparted live cd. download the iso, burn it to a cd, then boot your machine with it in. format the hard disk then reboot with your xp install cd and it will put xp back on.
Dig out your original XP disk and put it in the drive. Reboot the computer and Boot off of the XP disk. Follow the prompts and be sure to reformat the hard drive. Next time you play around with Beta operating systems, do it on a different hard drive. Remove the XP hard drive and install a new hard drive and install the O/S you are experimenting with on the new hard drive. Then when you want to go back to XP just put in the original HD.
hi there like motor cars you stay away from the 1st of the new model run, get the 2nd series where they have improved all the faults same with windows, you don t use it untill they fix all the bugs. flakes
Just boot off your Windows installation disc and follow the prompts to format and install Windows XP. If for some reason it refuses to install, just use Gparted or any linux disc and format the HDD first.

What time will Windows 7 be available? -
The release will be 12PM (Noon) Pacific Time. In GMT (where it applies to me) it ll be 8PM, and you can work out most of the European times working on that.. Microsoft seemed to have made this information very hard to find as i spent several hours trying to find it.
Just download it from a torrent.I m running windows 7 for weeks now. The torrent download is as legal as the one tomorrow. It just leaked from someone and ended up there
You need to have Vista with service pack 1 to download the beta version. It will not upgrade from XP. http://www.crn.com/software/212701488
Can I use Vista original key (license) to Windows 7 beta? Does it match? Can I activate Win 7 that way? Thx!? -
There are two different codes installed with Windows Cds or DVDs. One is the Product Key Code and the second is the OEM Serial Number Key Code that Identifies the CD that windows was loaded with. You can t use a Windows Product Key Code for some Other disc that was used.
Your current Windows Vista key will not work with Windows 7. At this time Windows 7 is only in beta and is only open to developers and what not. Wait a few more months and you should be able to get in on an open Windows 7 beta. Hope this information was helpful.

World of Warcraft on Windows 7 beta? -
It probably just doesn t support the OS yet. Thats the risk of windows 7 beta why not just have windows 7 beta and vista/xp running on anothe partition so when you want to play WOW you can play and when you want to experience windows 7 you can do that also
I am sorry I cannot answer your question, I am an XP only man. When Microsoft get rid of all thebuge in Vista and 7 (will be a long Time) they are still getting bugs in XP.
maybe its Graphics card Or try downloading WOw somewhere else.
Multi-touch Windows 7 laptop question? -
You will need a new laptop, as this upgrade will require a different type of LCD screen amp; interface hardware.
Windows Vista or Windows 7? Which is Better? -
I have the beta, its almost the same as vista, it ll be like a vista makeover.
Jury is still out since Windows 7 is still in beta but my experiences on several system shows that Windows 7 is superior. It s performance is a lot better than Vista. It s overall support for hardware and software seems to be a lot better. I ve attached some referenced to help you understand.
Windows 7 32bits and 64bits? -
32 bit will work on any processor, but has a 4GB limitation of RAM. 64 bit has a higher limit on RAM, but requires a 64 bit processor.
If I were to install Windows 7 beta will xp be deleted? -
you an partition your hard drive (not sure how but it must be somewhere online) and install it on the part with no data. It will be like having two completely different computers only you can access the files from one on the other. A friend of mine has three partitions one with our school required XP edition, one with Linux, and one with W7beta.
Stay with Windows XP because Windows 7 is worse than Windows Vista...nothing works with it... There are already reports of Numerous screw ups with Windows 7... Sure wish I could find a copy of XP Ever notice that you have to reserve 1/4 of your Hard drive just to store the Windows quot;Fixesquot; ? Am taking my Company away from anything Microsoft it has turned into a Garbage In, Garbage Out Company. Can obtain better products cheaper and more reliable. Plus 90% of them are Made In The USA...by Americans.
If you don t put the windows 7 ISO (files) on the xp partition, windows xp will not be removed , check this article out about how to dual boot , if you do step by step what this article tells you , you will be able to use both xp and windows 7 beta . http://lifehacker.com/5126781/how-to-dua...
If you dont want to loose XP dont do the upgrade, do the new install instead but have it go to a different drive or partition. upon finishing the installation when rebooting you will have the option of booting to XP or Windows 7. So you dont loose a thing and you can play around with Windows 7, which by the way is a lot faster than Vista and much better than XP. I have been using Windows 7 for a while now without any problems. Some of these so called computer experts are just guessing.
now i aint no computer geniuess but it might say it will be deleted and ask u if u want 2 continue.
The answer is yes if you prefer to do it in a different way. One of them would be installing a Virtual PC software. It acts like there is another PC inside your computer. Another one would be doing a dual boot.
Hi, my name s Cody, and I m working with the Windows Outreach Team to help answer questions users might have about the soon to be released Windows 7 Beta. According to the Windows Team, quot; The Windows 7 Beta only supports Windows Vista SP1 to Windows 7 upgrades. So if you intend to do an upgrade – be sure it is on a PC running Windows Vista with Service Pack 1.quot; Thanks, Cody Windows Outreach Team

Windows 7 or stick with vista? -
Hi HACK47, I’m Ron and I work with the Windows Outreach Team. I thought I’d jump in here and offer up a couple links that might help you make a decision when the time calls for it. First, you can visit http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windows... to see the latest Windows 7 news. Also, there’s still time to download and install the Windows 7 Beta. You can grab everything you need here: http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windows... If you’re wondering about Windows 7 and how you’d interact with it, Beta testing is a great way to find out. Make sure you follow the instructions carefully. Hope this helps out a bit. Cheers, Ron Windows Outreach Team
I d wait and see how it all plays out before you buy anything. I m sure your computer isn t that old if you have vista on it, especially since desktops can last for a while. Out desktop is almost ten years old and its still running.
I tried Windows 7just last week and I think it s really cool. Although I had some problems with my games so I switched back to Vista.
Windows 7 will be better.
How do I stop Windows Explorer 7 from auto-hiding in fullscreen? -
click f11
IE7 ======= Over time IE7 seems to set its own (or programs do) tick boxes in the advance tab. In IE7 Tools gt;Internet Options gt;Advance Tab Click Restore advance settings defaults button. Then scroll the listings down to near the bottom and: Tick empty temp files when browser closes (this empties the cache, which if not empty, will stop you from going online). Bullet disable phishing filter (optional. Leave it on if you want that type of protection, usually for financial data like internet banking) Delete Browser History, cookies, add ons, the whole lot regularly. Close the browser to set the settings. then click toolsgt;internet optionsgt;security tab gt;click Internet gt;custom levelgt; at bottom of the pop up selects medium-high(default) and click Reset.
press F11 when using Internet explorer to hide and press it again to bing it back.
I usually press the little button between ctrl and alt and it makes the bar pop up again.
that s right press F11
What do u think of windows 7? -
Just downloaded it today. We ll see this weekend how it goes...
To be honest i have never came across anyone, who dislikes windows 7. Everyone that is testing it says it is great :)
this is only a beta version for guinea pigs, will stop working on august 1st 09.
its alot better than vista

I cant install windows xp service pack 3 on WINDOWS 7; it says not compatible please help? -
That because its NOT designed for it.
If you have windows 7 beta on your machine there is no way known that you can install and upgrade for XP, reinstall XP and then do the service pack.
windows 7= windows vista...windows xp is NOT windows vista....
Windows 7 and Windows XP are not the same operating system even if they are made by the same manufacturer. You will not be able to install any Windows XP service packs on Windows 7 because this will be similar to trying to put a Volkswagen part on a Jeep. They just weren t designed like that. I know it takes a long time to get used to a new operating system but give it a trial period and over time, you will probably get used to it. You might even come to prefer it to Windows XP! If you really can t stand Windows 7, you will have to install Windows XP (the entire operating system, not just the service pack) to move back to Windows XP. Good luck!
Windows 7 is just a beta and you can try it out for a couple of months. You can not use it as your OS. In August Windows 7 is finished untill is will becoma alfa in 2010 I even read today, that microsoft has enough testers for windows 7 and you cannot download and install it any more.
Math: If it takes 5 window washers 7 hours to clean a business building then how long will it take 4? -
1 window washer needs (5 *7)= 35 hours 4 window washer need 35/4 = 8 3/4 hours
Create a proportion. Proportions represent a relationship between two numbers. The relationship between the window washers and hours to clean the building is 5/7. Set this equal to 4/x to determine how many hours it will take 4 windows washers to clean the building. Then cross multiply to solve for x! 5/7 = 4/x 5x = 7 * 4 5x = 28 5x/5 = 28/5 x = 5.6 hours to convert .6 to minutes: 6/10 of an hour 60 minutes/10 = 6 and 6 * 6 = 36 So the answer is 5 hours and 36 minutes
make a proportion. do 5 over 7. and then 4 over x. then cross mulitply and divide. like this: 5/7 = 4/x 7(4) = 28 28/5= 5.6 5 hours and 40 minutes. proportions work for almost anything!!
5/7 = 4/x 5x=28 x=5.6 hours .6 hours =36 minutes so 5 hours, thirty-six minutes
It takes 35 washer-hours to clean one building. It takes 35/4 washer-hours for 4 washers to do the job.
its reverse proportion it will take 8.75 hours for 4 of them just devide 5 by four and multiply by 7
well, the key here is to get a constant rate: 5/7 = 4/x. then solve for x: x= 28/5
When is Windows 7 going to be released? -
It was planned for release 3 years after Vista, ie, 2010 I suppose. It might be released in mid-2009 though. As for upgrading, I suppose it depends on the specs of your laptop. The same kind of thing as when Vista came out and people were upgrading* from XP. *lt;Insert old downgrading joke heregt;
It will be released early 2010 around the time of service pack 3. Yes you should be able to upgrade from vista. Windows 7 is pretty much the same platform as vista with huge performance improvements.
Windows 7 Questions: Installation and Programs? -
It seems like you would want to consider dual-booting. By doing this you will be able to use both XP and Windows 7 and if you want you can use libraries, which allow you to access media from other folders or partitions without having to transfer them. Lets just say you have music on C: drive(XP) and you have Windows 7 installed on the D: drive. You can edit the music library settings on Windows 7 and make it so that it shows all your music that you have on your C: drive on your D: drive without having to transfer them to the D: drive. You can also do this with: documents, videos, etc. Check out this guide on how to dual-boot: http://www.techspot.com/guides/143-dual-... Check out this guide on how to remove Windows 7, if you need/want to: http://mintywhite.com/tech/windows-7/rem... You can t really put office and other programs onto a disc because there is other things that are necessary for office to run, like registration entries and other things. You should just download/install the install files, that s the only way you can really transfer programs.
Hi Brocco Guy, My name’s Ron. I work with the Windows Outreach team and thought I’d stop in just to drop off a few links you might find helpful. Check out the important information about backing up files and programs here: http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windows... before installing Windows 7. You’ll need to have these files to restore your settings once the Windows 7 Beta is complete in August. Once you are ready to download and install the Windows 7 Beta go here to get the step-by-step guide: http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windows... The reason you need a DVD is because the file size of the ISO is so large it can’t be contained on a regular disc. If you do choose to go the dual-boot root, you can find information on how to do this here: http://windowshelp.microsoft.com/Windows... Again, just to be on the safe side, I’d recommend doing a backup of your files and settings. Hope this helps out. If you have additional questions, feel free to reach out. Cheers, Ron Windows Outreach Team
What tech specs would you need in your pc to run windows 7? -
Microsoft hasn t even decided yet what hardware would be the minimum requirement, because it s still in BETA! Like the rest of us, you ll just have to wait for Microsoft to tell the world.
No idea at all. Your computer should be fine. Microsoft wouldn t release an OS that most of the population couldn t use-oh wait...
a new microsoft os is years in the future pointless to concern yourself with it now. as far as upgrade advice get a core 2 duo e8400 they use the new 45 nanometer technology they have 6mbs cache and are easily oc d to 4GHz, you will probably need a new board but it is totaly worth it these cpu are next generation.
I wouldn t be too concerned right now its not set to come out for roughly three years. Hardware is expected to last about that long and by the time it does come out yours will be obsolete. Just wait and you will be privy to the system requirements for it.
Well, I assume at MINIMUM what the (ridiculous) requirements for Vista are. By the time they release the next version of Windows, the requirements will probably be much higher I d imagine. gt;.gt; Home Basic: * 1 GHz 32-bit (x86) or 64-bit (x64) processor * 512 MB of system memory * 20 GB hard drive with at least 15 GB of available space * Support for DirectX 9 graphics and 32 MB of graphics memory * DVD-ROM drive * Audio Output * Internet access (fees may apply) Additional Requirements Actual requirements and product functionality may vary based on your system configuration. Windows Vista Upgrade Advisor can help you determine which features and edition of Windows Vista will run on your computer. While all editions of Windows Vista can support multiple core CPUs, only Windows Vista Business, Ultimate, and Enterprise can support dual processors. Vista Home Premium / Business / Ultimate * 1 GHz 32-bit (x86) or 64-bit (x64) processor * 1 GB of system memory * 40 GB hard drive with at least 15 GB of available space * Support for DirectX 9 graphics with: o WDDM Driver o 128 MB of graphics memory (minimum) o Pixel Shader 2.0 in hardware o 32 bits per pixel * DVD-ROM drive * Audio Output * Internet access (fees may apply)
I would say the thing you would need to change would be the CPU as it s a 2.3Ghz I use a Quad core 2.4 and it manages to run Vista Ultimate. I had to change my PC dramatically just over Vista Ultimate. People would say it wouldn t be worth it. It depends on how you feel about it all. I would say for you, after you change your CPU then you have really no worry to install the next Windows but nevertheless it is Microsoft after all. Who knows what you need to run the next version of Windows. I can tell you though, many companies have made money from Vista of having to upgrade their parts, either installing new RAM or graphics card. Companies who make these won t be out of pocket.
you can install LINUX
Where is Windows 7 Beta? -
To quote: quot; 9:21 PM EST Fri. Jan. 09, 2009 Microsoft (NSDQ:MSFT) has delayed the release of the first public beta of Windows 7 due to heavy traffic, and is working on putting more network infrastructure in place to support demand, according to a Friday afternoon post to The Windows Blog. Brandon LeBlanc, a communications manager on the Windows Client Communications Team, said Microsoft is delighted by the overwhelming interest and will post an update to the blog once the additional capacity has been added and Windows 7 Beta 1 is ready for public downloads. quot;We want to ensure customers have the best possible experience when downloading the beta, and I ll be posting here again soon once the beta goes live, quot; LeBlanc wrote. quot; The above from: http://www.crn.com/software/212701706 EDIT: I feel like saying you can always check the Pirate Bay, but of course no I don t advocate it for copyrighted material as a rule.
From Microsoft TechNet: quot;Thanks for your interest in the Windows 7 Beta. The volume has been phenomenal -- we’re in the process of adding more servers to handle the demand. We’re sorry for the delay and we’ll re-post the Beta as soon as we can ensure a quality download experience.quot;
MS got hit with way too much demand (a lot more than expected), bogging down their servers; they took down the servers hosting it until they can provide a better way for everyone interested to be able to access it or the like. They don t have an ETA for when it will be available (at least check at least).
When Windows 7 comes out how will it upgrade over Vista? -
When Windows 7 comes out how will it upgrade over Vista? YES Will the OS just overlap the other OS replacing primary system files? YES Will it delete my stuff that I have on my computer now? Not if you choose UPGRADE Also, will 7 be similar to Vista and will it be compatible with everything Vista is compatible with on my system? YES
Just like previous versions, Windows 7 would come as... 1. Upgrade: from Vista or XP, in all flavors. Here your data files would not be affected. 2. Standalone installation: You would have the data files you if you install the W7 over the previous version without formatting. You will also be able to have dual boot with the previous version.
it is like vista but faster and yes it will be compatible with everything on Vista
I dont know if Windows 7 will replace Vista but i know that everything is compatible and is very similar to vista.
When will Windows 7 be available for download?!? -
the windows 7 is available in www.yahvibes.com
As soon as MIcrosoft announces that Windows 8 is under development and will be the best operating system yet.
it s already available on technet, though the server seems to be really tied up.
It s already available (beta)... try a torrent search.
About Windows 7? -
The Windows 7 is still under-development and it s no way you can download it s evaluation version at this time. Microsoft has scheduled the release of this operating system in two years time. Meanwhile, explore Windows Vista. Wherever you have heard this news from, let me tell you that it s fake. And that link you had provided is not working for me as my ISP has blocked access to it. So this means that it s bogus and contains some kind of a virus or other types of malware. Please don t rush into anything right now. Microsoft will officially announce if they have plans of releasing any kind of software they are creating. Because, Vista was leaked at it s development period and was made available for download to millions. Subsequently, they installed software which had lots of bugs in it!
Its a edited version of Windows Vista SP1. Its just like the windows XP Performance edition thing they release every month with some changes. There is whole loads of thing about this windows 7 which also called “Windows Vienna” at http://www.osbeta.org/ Love amp; Peace…
Microsoft often release unfinished software to certain people for testing. They rarely release public versions until the final release is ready for sale. Don t infer that you can get an evaluation license, just because evaluation licenses exist.
Become an employ of Microsoft corporation and enter into Windows 7 Team! Windows 7 is not for public if it is not on there developer site or whatever official!

Windows 7 Beta Drivers? -
In most cases, Windows Vista drivers will work. Just download the Vista drivers for your hardware
Internet Explorer 7, Internet Explorer 8 Beta 2, and Firefox all support the Windows 7 Beta download. I never test beta products because I did once with a beta version of Internet Explorer and it was a nightmare. Did the Beta version of Windows 7 include an Internet browser install? The information I read from Microsoft did not indicate it included a browser. If not, and you put in a new hard drive, you have no internet browser on your computer. Since you can t get on the Internet without the browser, you ll have to get a copy from a friend and install it. Have a friend download Internet Explorer 7 to a disk and give it to you so you can install the browser. Software doesn t use drivers. Drivers are required for your operating system to run hardware such as printers, video cards, etc.
If you have a device that won;t work in 7 with the Vista driver, just reinstall Vista. Remember, this is for bug testing - that means that they haven t gotten all the bugs out yet. (Given Microsoft s history, they ll never get all the bugs out of anything but their insect traps.)
Try the manufacturers of the device site
What is some cool fun or interesting software i have windows 7 64bit ultimate? -
You mean u have Windows 7 64bit ultimate quot;BETAquot;? Right? So look around at all the options. You only have till August, so hurry.
Is downloading windows 7 free? -
internet explorer 7 is for free, and i didn t know they had something called Windows 7!
Sorry to tell you but its not free. Windows 7 is the next operating system that is still in the making from Microsoft. It is going to take over windows vista. And Vista took over XP in the year 2006. Windows 7 might come out late 2009 to 2010 depending on when Microsoft finishes it. To this date nobody has got there hands on windows 7. If you want a free OS there is Ubuntu you could download from - http://www.ubuntu.com/ - which I have tried. It s great for people that don t want to spend money on operating systems you can download lots of games that are made for it. But it would be nothing like windows 7. You can download windows 7 for free from things like bitTorrent but I have never tried it before and it is illegal to do, you could go to jail for up to 10 years. I don t recommend it. If you really want windows 7 you should wait for it to come out and buy it at the shops. Though as for me I am soon going to buy a Mac. pre-loaded with Mac OS X leopard. Good luck.
Sure, it s free, but try dowload opera, is better (my opinion) Just search on google quot;free download operaquot; version 6.1.6 or quot;internet explorer 7quot; by the way u shd found it on msn page, www.microsoft.com
no, if you download and use your in breach of copywrite laws, and this is a crime and can carry a heavy fine.
No. It s supposedly going to be the next version of the Windows operating system. If you want to be free, use Linux.
Microsoft free ??? Yeah, right. If you want a free OS, consider a version of Linux.
nothing is really free they say games that download are sometimes free but anything else watch out you might get in trouble
No. Microsoft do not provide any version of Windows for free, and Windows 7 isn t even finished yet.
nope its not free, the only way u can download it through torrents but its illegal so i wud suggest u dont do that.
If I have Vista x64 bit....when the new windows 7 comes out, will I be able to upgrade to a x32? -
You cannot upgrade from 32-bit to 64-bit or vice versa. Seeing as you have a 64-bit version now, you must have 4GB of RAM or more and it would make no sense to go to 32-bit as you would lose the use of that extra memory. (PS - it s not quot;encryptionquot; :))
64 bits and 32 bits are two different versions of the same OS that installs on compatible chips. Going from 64 bits to 32 bits is not Upgrade . Yes, you will be able to install W7 if your hardware supports it - RAM 1 GB and chip about 3 MHZ
YOu might but that s called downgrade!
you could, but you would need to format your harddrive first
ARE YOU USING WINDOWS 7 ? Whats it like? -
Windows Vista is the buggiest version of windows and I m using it right now they ve been working on windows seven before the release of windows vista and windows vista is a rushed and no effort version of windows..... Windows 7 is by far 100% faster than vista and the bootup times on windows 7 are faster even than xp!!!! so yeah windows seven is set to be released on the second half of 2009 and its an apple killer by that I mean leopard killer because windows 7 is the best version of windows ever made. YES its better than XP Edit: Windows vista is not so buggy any more since the release of the service pack 1 but its still lacks performance.
Unfortuatly i do not have it but i have read reviews and people have said it is WAY faster and more stable than vista. So it is probably better than xp. Here is a picture http://windows7news.com/wp-content/uploa...
Does it matter that its faster than XP? You should never use a beta version for your main OS. If you want to mess with it go ahead, but I don t suggest using it full time, that would be silly.
It s just another Windows where microsoft have moved things around in the menus, and hidden other things, so they can charge an exuberant price.
Never use beta if you r no a programmer!! End user should receive highest quality content of software. Say no to prototype.
I heard its supposed to be good, does anyone know the actual release for it?
Disk defragmenter on windows 7? -
Move all the defrag d files up together to close the gaps. If fully consolidated then all the files would be at one end of the disk and all the free space would be in one big chunk at the other end.
the beta hasn t become public, so haw do you think the public would know???? yes i am bitter that i haven t gotten a copy.....
How many of u have tried windows 7? -
better not try it its only quot;betaquot; so, you will naturally experience BUGS and ERRORS
hey, microsoft released only the beta version of windows 7 and the original standard version will be released by the next Christmas only. So, use the current OS whether XP or Vista. Note: Its the first beta OS of Microsoft. Don t need to try this.
i think windows seven are better than vista if its compare about their graphic, but maybe more slow than vista, but i love superbar (windows seven) find out..change your vista taskbar
Not yet, tried to dl the beta but it kept on stopping. Just gonna wait until the server is more stable.
it is a unfinished beta program ------------for testers only (professional)
Nope I didn t even know that there was windows 7
Good!
Dont do it! Im an IT expert! : )
I like it. One of the better OS s they have designed thus far.
DONT DO IT! 98 was the best xp was ok and vista was useful so you do the maths. Thnk of your fav movie....was the sequel as good as the original? XD
Windows-7 beta download? Cant seem to get it to open!? -
Henry G- Hi, my name s Cody, and I m working with the Windows Outreach Team to help answer questions that folks might have about their copies of the Windows 7 Beta. Installing the Windows 7 Beta can be a little tricky, so I d recommend you take a look at this official guide before you attempt to install it: http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windows... This guide will give you a step-by-step walkthrough on the installation process. I hope it s helpful! If you have any more questions about the Windows 7 Beta, check out this FAQ: http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windows... Good luck! Thanks, Cody Windows Outreach Team
it saves on your computer then you need a software that can burn CD for you you put the file into the program your using to burn it on to the CD because its in ISO format or w/e you have to burn it into a CD then put the CD back into your computer
This is a beta product - you run it in order to report bugs to Microsoft. You just found a bug, so report it. Maybe they ll get it fixed so that the next beta will run on your computer. (There s no guarantee that it ll run on any given computer.)
u need to burn it to a cd, then u install from the cd, but should back up ur info first... ive dun this before, theyre all the same...
Windows 7 downloads as an iso file which has to be burned to DVD (a CD is not big enough) which then becomes your boot disk
Who thinks I should download Windows 7? -
I Figure its a waste of time if u are a serious user
i think its awesome so far i have only had one problem with it but dont run it as your main os since its a beta and it stops working on august 1st so if you do download it run it as a virtual machine or install it on a computer you dont use or dual boot it
I think it s good, but it s a self-destructive OS (it stop working in august) meaning I can t afford to put it on my main computer.
Im trying Windows 7, do you think itll run on this pc? -
when vista came out it didn t support a lot of motherboards because some company didnt feel like making a driver because it was too outdated. i wasnt able to run on my 1.6ghz b/c a-bit didn t support vista for nforce2 chipset but i was able to install vista on my old computer intel motherboard and intel cpu 700mhz Pentium 3, 512mb, works on vista but slow as heck LOL windows 7 is looks just like vista so i pretty sure it will work if your motherboard supports vista.
It may, but yes it will be slow.
Can you change from Windows 7 to XP? -
Yep. Full installation of XP. Of course it will format your disk, but that s what you get when you change operating systems. You can t downgrade or quot;rollbackquot; from 7 to XP, you can only install XP over 7.

Info on test download of windows 7 please...? -
Yes, it will delete your current version of Windows unless you dual-boot The Windows 7 beta will stay activated until August, then you won t be able to use it
It will delete the OS if you install it over the old one. You might want to use a separate hard drive or partition. You can also upgrade to windows 7 from vista, but I ve heard that it is a very slow process compared to wiping a hard drive and installing it fresh. You have until August 1st 2009 to run Windows 7, then it gets canceled.
It will work until 1st August then you will have to return to current OS. Like Microsoft say Do use on your every day computer Unless you want to use Windows7 for Programme Development testing then i wouldn t recommend downloading or do what i done use Microsoft Virtual Machine 2007. Search Microsoft.com
you don t install beta operating systems on a working system yes it will noly work till August then stop working if ms don t extend the beta date for more testing anyway is not what it is made out to be, jusy a upgrade of vist nothing more
http://news.cnet.com/Windows-7-Moving-be... All you need to know about windows 7 beta
it ends august 1 -2009 you should dual boot instead http://lifehacker.com/5126781/how-to-dua...
It will replace your existing OS. It works until Aug 1st, then deactivates. So, you will have to reinstall your OS you have now Aug 1st.
Just install it on another partition.
You can choose weather it deletes your operating system or installs next to it. It will expire on August 1st 2009.
only for a limited period ~up to August i believe enjoy
Windows 7 will not setup properly. hen set up is complete I click on the e , the browser opens but does not f -
It s hard to diagnose a problem like that without accessing the computer that s having the problem. I would suggest reinstalling it but you already did that. If you still can t get it to work, you could go to http://www.getfirefox.com from another computer, download Firefox onto a cd-r and install it on the computer you re having the trouble with. Firefox is a web browser, like Internet Explorer 7, and is faster (at least compared to version 6). You should be able to copy your bookmarks and favorites list over to Firefox when you set it up as long as Internet Explorer 7 hasn t messed those files up.
do you have an illegal copyof windows running on our computer? this would be why
People are having alot of issues regarding IE7 I ve put a few links below hope this helps When you say it does not operate - what do you mean ? that you get a blank page? or a error message ? if you get a error message that this can give vital clues also try this - when up grading from ie6 to 7 it will import all the rubbish from ie6 and cause problems Firstly use the disk clean up utility and wipe all cookies and temp internet files then click start then run type iexplore -extoff then try also try the links below
Has anyone managed to get a Geforce4 4200 graphics card to work with Windows 7 on higher than 1024x768? -
Windows 7 chances of survival upon its released? -
Hopefully Microsoft will start to act responsibly and not abuse the law. Anyone else seen my flying pig?
I don t see everyone s problem with Vista. And what are you talking about it needing to be quot;salvagedquot;, it never had anything wrong with it. And isn t quot;Windows 7quot; actually gonna be called something else, that was kinda like Vista but more of a flower sort of a name (I don t really know what im talking about with the name). I have been using Vista for about 7 or 7 months now and I have never seen anything wrong with it s networking capabilites or it s ability to look so good.
I m still trying to figure out if Vista is going to be salvaged. If Microsoft doesn t fix vista and Windows 7 is released, I am moving to Linux.
I sincerely believe that with the present sequence of events in the computer world and advent of technological advancement here would still be room for improvement and debugging to enhance the overall performance of windows 7 as a sole operating program.
windows se7en well not be another microsoft mistake it well be better then all microsoft os s it well also have touch features . but it well not release for 3 more years . 2010 i guess is the do date . im not getting vista im waiting for 7
How fast is Windows 7? -
It is not faster than xp. Those specs are in reference to the way it can handle 64bit data chunks (dumbed down a bit for you). Actual day to day working is improved over vista but still not technically as good as response time as xp. And not even close to as fast as Ubuntu or MacOSX
How can I get yahoo toolbar to work on my computer windows internet explorer 7? -
Download it here, if you have any questions about how to set it up, or add or delete anything, Please ask a question, about exactly what you need help with..Thank You..Good Luckgt;gt; http://toolbar.yahoo.com/
Correction to the above answer. The newest Yahoo toolbar is horrible. Don t waste your time, just get rid of it and find a better one, or just use the IE Favorite, as I have done, much better and no problems at all.
Downgrade from windows 7 to xp? -
install it on a dual boot since it can t be uninstalled http://lifehacker.com/5126781/how-to-dua... http://windows7news.com/2009/01/28/unins...
Well you can try, but your system might not meet the requirements. Windows 7 requires a very minimum of 1024 MB (1 GB) of RAM, and at least a Ghz range processor (preferably a dual or quad core). The hard drive you have is also quite small, I wouldn t install Windows 7 without dedicating at least 50 GB to it. I suggest you upgrade your drive, even laptops now tend to have drives gt;250 GB. Windows 7 will activate and run fine, but it is a beta and will expire before the end of year. At that time, you will have to purchase Windows 7 or download the new beta (if one is available).
Ya you can go to www.egydown.com for more instructions and how to install.
