When is Windows 7 going to be released? Also will I just be able to upgrade to from Vista to Windows 7 or would a new up to date laptop be required? Thanks.

It was planned for release 3 years after Vista, ie, 2010 I suppose. It might be released in mid-2009 though. As for upgrading, I suppose it depends on the specs of your laptop. The same kind of thing as when Vista came out and people were upgrading* from XP. *lt;Insert old downgrading joke heregt;

It will be released early 2010 around the time of service pack 3. Yes you should be able to upgrade from vista. Windows 7 is pretty much the same platform as vista with huge performance improvements.
