Downgrade from windows 7 to xp? -

I m contemplating upgrading from xp to the windows 7 beta, and I have a couple of questions. 1. Will I be able to downgrade back to xp, and is there anything I will have to do before or during the windows 7 install in order to downgrade? 2. When I originally bought my laptop, it had windows xp home installed, then the hard drive got corrupted. I decided that since I had nothing important installed on the hard drive, I would just but a new one, and install windows xp professional on that. So the copy of windows that I have on my laptop is not the one that came with it. What I m wondering is, will I be able to activate windows 7 after I install it and how? Useful information about me: Version of windows is not the original one Hard drive is not the original one Hard drive size is 60 gb and has two partitions: One about 45 gb for windows xp professional and one about 15 gb for ubuntu 8.10 I have a dual-boot system I have access to a 160 gb external hard drive

install it on a dual boot since it can t be uninstalled http://lifehacker.com/5126781/how-to-dua... http://windows7news.com/2009/01/28/unins...

Well you can try, but your system might not meet the requirements. Windows 7 requires a very minimum of 1024 MB (1 GB) of RAM, and at least a Ghz range processor (preferably a dual or quad core). The hard drive you have is also quite small, I wouldn t install Windows 7 without dedicating at least 50 GB to it. I suggest you upgrade your drive, even laptops now tend to have drives gt;250 GB. Windows 7 will activate and run fine, but it is a beta and will expire before the end of year. At that time, you will have to purchase Windows 7 or download the new beta (if one is available).

Ya you can go to www.egydown.com for more instructions and how to install.
