How do I know which version of windows 7 beta to download? 64 or 32 bit? -

If you are unsure go for the 32-bit version. LUG.

I hate to say this but if you don t know whether you have a 32 bit or 64 bit computer then maybe you shouldn t be downloading a beta OS program that will only work until August when the testing period ends and the OS goes on sale. You ll have to buy the new OS or uninstall the beta and reinstall the previous OS. People who seriously test beta versions don t put them on their #1 personal computers. They install them on a second computer they have just for beta testing. There are sometimes bugs, clitches and multiple incompatabilities that can really foul up a machine.

What CPU (processor) do you have? If it s a 64-bit capable CPU, you want to get the 64-bit version. If your CPU is an AMD with 64 in its name or is an Intel Core 2 CPU, you want the 64-bit version. Otherwise, tell us what CPU you have and we ll tell you.

If your CPU supports x64 than go ahead and get the x64 version. If you don t know how to tell then download this simple free program. http://www.grc.com/securable.htm The first part will say if your CPU is 32bit or 64bit.
