How do you run windows 7 beta off of an external hard drive? -

I have a dell inspiron laptop that has already maxed out on partitions (windows 7, ubuntu) I would like to try windows 7 beta and run it from my external harddrive. How do i install 7 to my external hard drive and then run it?

what i might suggest doing is sacrificing a OS for windows 7. its really worth it. also, i would use that external HD to backup whatever in case you want to change back if you dont like it.

im no expert but when you install it, if asked for the drive to install to, specify the external drive and then when booting you have to boot from that drive which has to be changed in the bios

Normally programs or operating systems can not run off an external harddrive through USB. Sorry Sarge

you can t install it on a external hd..... might i suggest that you use a Virtual Machine to run windows 7
