GUI isn t integrated, so it can be disabled on a server saving memory for the servers processing functions. There are fewer viruses for Linux than XP and it s more stable, you may not need to restart for 8 months to a few years.
First, Fedora is a linux and XP is not. You shouldn t try to run it on XP without OTHER special software. You CAN put them both on the same computer using the built in dual-boot option. They require SEPARATE partitions on the HD, and you need to load Windows first. If you ALREADY have windows loaded, then you need a partitioning program to shift things around so that you have the necessary partition space (free space) to load the Linux. The Linux will note that there is a windows system installed and help you to set up the dual boot during the install. (Note that it will usually default to loading Linux rather than windows unless you specify otherwise. I have 1 PC that has 1 windows version (and 5 partitions, quot;logical drivesquot; for windows), 1 unix version, and 5 linux versions ALL on the same 80GB HD; AND the unix and linux can access 3 of the windows partitions to share data with the windows OS!
