Windows 7 beta is it really worth it? -

I m so tempted to DL the beta of windows 7. i hear good things about it but every time i get to the microsoft page the part that says u shouldn t run this on a computer u use everyday it kinda scares me away. so tell me is it worth it? running xp, not doing a whole lot really on it just mostly internet stuff now since my xbox 360 kinda took over my game time.

Ive looked at it its basically just a win vista service pack dont wast your time

Get A mac their wayyy better

get a Mac holmes.

Well that brought forth the usual responses including everything is incompatible to it s wonderful.Nobody actually gave the question much thought though. First you can run it alongside XP or Vista as a dual boot system by installing on a partition if you only have one computer. The question is have you done dual boot before, do you feel confident experimenting and most important are you happy when you are trying to get everything running again. Beta versions are not for everyone, they appeal to those who do not so much use a computer as play with a computer. As for the Windows 7 beta it seems to be very backward compatible with Vista. I have no driver problems, for once everything just works. Just for fun I removed half my RAM and it runs quite happily on 1 gig. It s smaller, lighter, and to me much more natural than Vista. I am not a huge Microsoft fan but I think they may just have replaced XP at last. Vista did not cut it for me but this is at this stage looking good.

Don t waste your time on it.

Best to wait until it finishes its beta stage. I believe it will be released late this year when no doubt you will be able to have a free trial to see what you think. Depending on your computer some stuff may not run properly anymore with Windows 7.

If so, make sure you put it on a separate partition or something. I liked it until I realized half my applications didn t work on it.

Windows 7 Beta is very stable and could easily be used as an everyday computer. However it s not intended to be used this way and that is why it is a BETA. More importantly you will have to reinstall windows in a few months when the final version comes out so you re better off not ******* with it as your main operating system.

the only reason it says that is because its going to take away xp. but if you reformat your pc xp will be back. ny frined got windows 7. he says its so much better, but i have never looked at it, but he says its awesome. You need to have your openrating disc incase you dont like it you can reinsatall xp
