I had 6 windows and a new front door installed in July by BAC Windows. The bill was approx £3900....I would say thats quite a healthy quote (Enfield, Middx)
I thing good price
It sounds like a close price to me. I am a renovation contractor and here it costs about $1000 per window. That is Canadian dollars. A Canadian dollar is equal to about 1/2 a british pound. That would mean you are paying 500 british pounds per window. Muliply times 2 and it equals the price here. I have travelled quite extensively and find that most consumer goods in western countries are close to the same price once one converts the exchange. I hope this helps. It also depends on the type of window, If it is the european (German tilt and swing) type, the quote is very close.
You should get quotes from anyone who offers them for free so that you can compare. Perhaps you could haggle slightly by saying quot;well one company is able to do it for this much so unless you can beat their quote I ll have to go with them!quot; Some companies will offer a discount if you are on a busy road and they can put up a advertisement sign using your property as an example of their work. The advice in this link may help... http://www.dooyoo.co.uk/discussion/savin...
I charge £100 pounds to fit a window or door. as for the cost of the windows it s a how long is a piece of string. are they standard sizes, do they have to be supporting and no meation of quality. for a standard upvc, mid range I d say no more than £2500. haggle with the company it s a slow time of year. Check that they are registered with FENSA, it has nothing to do with quality but you need the cert off them if you want to move
my fella is a upvc and he would charge you just over a grand. i think your being fleeced but then again, you live in london and the prices might be higher than warrington
