Installing Windows 7 from a second hard drive XP? -

So I have my windows 7 iso and I m wanting to install it. I don t have an external hard drive, or a DVDR drive to burn the iso. What I do have is a second internal HD, is there any way I can make the install directly from the second HD on to my primary HD? I m using XP.

Yes, you can do this if you have a special software to install stuff directly from the ISO. I personally prefer Virtual CloneDrive, but there are others like the Microsoft Virtual CD-ROM (but I use Vista so I don t know what s it like). Virtual CloneDrive: http://www.slysoft.com/en/virtual-cloned... MagicDisc: http://www.magiciso.com/tutorials/miso-m... Microsoft Virtual CD-ROM: http://download.microsoft.com/download/7... I read on WinMatrix that you can t upgrade from Windows XP to Windows 7. So I ll recommend you to put the ISO on your Windows XP drive and then install Windows 7 on the second drive. That way you can create a dual-boot configuration and then you can boot to Windows 7 and Windows XP. I m doing this too, and I m writing this on my Windows 7 machine. Just don t forget to backup your files. :-)

Use Daemon Tools to emulate a CD/DVD drive to load up the .iso: http://forum.daemon-tools.cc/download.ph...
