Also, MS will probably advise you to create a restore point first thing after reformatting. That way, you can just revert to the quot;installation-freshquot; restore point without the hassle of completely reformatting.
I had the understanding that you had to wait 120 before you could activate xp online again, otherwise you had to call. Just wanted to add that I bought my pc new over 3 years ago, and have never had to format or do anything drastic at all to it. Just keep it clean as you go...I always delete cookies and temp files, and I use Ccleaner. I ve personally only defragmented my hard drive only twice in the last 3 years or so. And also make sure I delete anything in my recylce bin before the end of the day. And I use AVG Free.
