How come Windows 7 doesnt have any Microsoft-related websites anymore? -

I ve been trying to get on the Windows 7 homepage, but I keep getting redirected because quot;We are sorry, the page you requested cannot be found. See below for search results close to your request, or try a new search.quot; All the other Microsoft websites work. You can t even access it from Google. It s weird.

Hello John- My name is Jeff and I work with the Windows Outreach Team. I know that earlier the site was down, but I just checked the site two seconds ago and it was working again. The Windows 7 Beta is still available for download. The download is not limited to 2.5 million people, and is available for download until Jan. 24th. Also, it is highly unlikely the layoffs have anything to do with the site being down for a brief time today. Thanks for you interested in Windows 7. Jeff Windows Outreach Team

Hi, Don t take this answer as Gospel, However, the other day I made a post here noting that Microsoft were limiting the release of Windows-7 Beta to 2.5 million users. Perhaps they have reached that now and hence no site. If not that, then perhaps the site is being revamped to allow feedback from those trialling the product, and hence will be back up when its ready. Regards, TgTips

The previous answer sounds about right. I tried to download a beta of Vista when it first came out and got a similar message.

Microsoft is letting 5,000 people go. That may a little to do with it. Cost cutting.
