Both Operating Systems are great! There really is no bugs on Vista once you install all of the latest updates. If you plan on getting Vista, you will need about 2GB or more of ram for it to run smoothly, especially with all of the pre-installed software that comes on the computer. Also make sure that you check your manufacturer s website to see if they have drivers for Vista. If they don t have the drivers for Vista, you basically can t install Vista anyways because not everything will work properly. Windows 7 is a stable release and only has minor bugs and other things that need to be fixed, it s safe to install the beta on another partition. I m sure you would like it over any other OS. Windows 7 will most likely be released in June at the earliest and Christmas at the latest. If I were in your shoes, i would install Windows 7 beta and use instead of Vista. The expiration date for the latest build of Windows 7 is August 1, 2009 and there will be more builds to come, so the expiration date will extend even further and as the more builds and updates come out, the more stable Windows 7 is. Be sure to send feedback to Microsoft within Windows 7 to send any comments, bugs, or any other useful information. Every feedback sent can help Windows 7 be the best OS!!
I would wait for Windows 7, it is suppose to be faster, bug free, and use less resources and battery life to last longer. Go to Microsoft and look for launch date. http://www.microsoft.com Vista when factory installed has few problems and auto update will take care of fix s, but I still would wait for W7 or get one with Windows XP Pro if its available.
Right now, Vista.
