Buy an external hard drive to back everything up. Or buy a couple of blank DVDs. Your call. Because, with upgrading, there is ALWAYS the chance that you will lose your data. You probably won t, but if it is important and you want to be 100% sure, back it up.
DVD-r are your friend. They are cheap (price per GB) but they take a while to write to. Your next option would be an external drive (because an internal drive doesn t help if the computer is dropped). The external hard drive will start at about $70 for a decent one, but the write times are much faster and you can rewrite to a hard drive a couple thousand times. You have time to weigh your options though as windows doesn t have a new OS coming out anytime soon.
Find a friend witha big hard-drive because yeah,it involves reformatting.
ya if u format if u upgrade u wont or just install it on another partition or on virtual pc(very slow with 1 gb)
If you dont back it up yes.
I don t know... MACS RULE
