hi jimmy remember first, windows 7 is still in its beta stage so it will contain several bugs ect which may affect some pc,s however i have been using the beta on my spare quot;acer aspire 3860quot; and up to now i have experienced minimal problems have you dual booted windows 7 with windows xp or did you install windows 7 on its own over windows xp,since dual booting windows 7 with windows xp has not been tested however i dual booted the windows vista beta with windows xp with no problems i would re-install the window 7 beta from the begining again and make sure you choose the quot;advancedquot; installation and not the quot;upgradequot;,since the advanced installation allows you to edit partitions and remove any unused partitions that may have corrupt data ect on it make sure you have a single partition and choose this to install the windows 7 beta then follow the prompts by the book, also skip the wireless connection option during the setup, allthough this is a nice addition to the windows 7 installation its far easier to configure your wireless connection once windows 7 is loaded good luck jimmy !
Try reinstalling from scratch again. Do all the first steps and when its starts to install dont touch anything. When the computer restarts it does what it needs to do automatically. Even tho it might say press any key to boot form cd DONT! This messes up the cycle its on. Just let it do its business till its completely done.
