Cannot start xp after installing windows 7? -

my pc has 2 partition and windows xp exist one of them. And i installed windows 7 on the other partition, but i cannot start the pc with windows xp. windows 7 starts well and i can see the files on partition that xp installed but how will i run my pc with windows xp?

When you installed Windows 7, it modified the boot sector so that the computer will look for an operating system on the 2nd partition. There are 2 ways you can go: 1) You can install a boot loader program which will pop up a menu and allow you to select which partition to boot from. Free programs that you can try are GRUB, LILO, GAG, and MRBOOTER (do an Internet search on them.) 2) Windows itself has multi-boot capability. You need to edit a text file in the root directory of your partition. http://oreilly.com/pub/h/591 OR You can also access boot options by right clicking on the My Computer icon on the desktop and click on Properties. Then click the Advanced tab and click on the Settings button regarding Startup and Recovery. (I don t know anything about Windows 7, but hopefully the boot option editing in XP is the same for Windows 7. If Windows 7 has a different method of setting the boot options, then you ll have to look through all the Windows 7 setting menus/windows to see if there are any boot-related options available or try doing an internet search on multiboot windows 7 )
