WIndows 7 beta question? -

I have an AMD 64 bit processor with 1.5 gb of ram - which beta version of windows 7 would run smoother/faster - 32 bit or 64 bit?

Both of them will run with a 64-bit processor. Go for 32-bit as 99% of apps are built for 32-bit architecture presently. Don t misunderstand 64-bit by extra performance(only happen when 64-bit apps u have + more than 4gb of RAM)

Heat is correct - the ONLY difference now will occur if you have 4GB of RAM or more. There are VERY few 64 bit apps, and there are almost no 32 bit apps that won t run on a 64 bit OS. However, if you have to ask the question, you really shouldn t be running a beta OS - the purpose of running a beta isn t to have the latest Os, it s to report bugs to Microsoft. And there ARE known bugs in 7. If it deletes some of your important files, or damages your computer, you have no recourse - it s a beta. (There have been pleas for help posted here already from people who should NOT have been running it. And the answer has always been quot;there s nothing you can do, but buy {XP | Vista} and install itquot;.)

what God s Man said. you have the choice of running either version. you will see performance increase if you have over 4GB of RAM in the 64bit.

its about hardware you have AMD 64bit you can only run windows windows 7 64 bit version
