Where can I get drivers for windows 7? -

I need a driver for my GF 9800 graphics card and I tried going windows updater and it said i was up to date what should I do?

Basically you just need to find Vista drivers for windows 7, but I don t think they always work. At least that s been my experience so far. You should have never installed Windows 7 without first researching the drivers that u would need. What s funny is I have a 3yr old laptop that I installed Win7 beta on and when I went to MS update it found updated drivers for my video card, also 3+ yrs old. lol

i heard a lot of your drivers are already compatable with 7. so if you already have it installed then it should work. you can go to the geforce nvidia site and find the driver and update from the site. i dont think there is a special driver for 7. think you can use the vista one. heard that not sure how true it is. or xp might work too. some things can work with either. my computer most of the drives works with xp or vista just like games. the only things that dont work is like my face recognition because only vista offers that for my computer. but most games even if older then vista will run with vista too without doing a update for them. i have many games that work fine. and the update or patch i have for them work too and were not put out for vista. there was nothing special that ihad to get to make them run on vista. if it is not working right though you might have a onboard card that you would have to disable in order for your geforce to work. my old desktop when i first got the geforce card it would not work and it was xp. i had to disable the built in card first and then it worked fine. i updated to vista ad in doing so it turned on my built in card. so i had to just disable it again. after that it worked fine. windows 7 is supposed to be more like xp. not use as much of your ram and all like vista does. people had issues with vista mostly because of not having the ram for it. when vista came out 1 gig of ram was great to have at the time. now 2 gigs is min and 4 gigs is good to have. they even hve 8 gigs now. but most people had 1 gig and so it cause alot of issues. also new you have bugs. even games have issues that they have to send a patch to fix as they come up. i would have waited tell 7 was out a little longer and most of the bugs get fixed and patches or updates are made to run your drivers with it for those that need it.

From what i understand Vista drivers are the same for Windows 7. I have a beta copy of 7 and i wouldn t trust putting anything much on it. It s not even close to being ready for prime time yet.

should have never downloaded windows 7, the drivers for your graphic cards do not exist to work within windows 7 properly. people should have learned this from Vista.
