Could i create another partition on my primary OS to install windows 7 without it affecting the FactoryRestore? -

I have a dell xps m1330 and i want to install it on a different partition created from my primary partition (c). If i were to make this new partition to install windows 7 would i still be able to use the factory restore tool on my laptop to restore my laptop if anything goes wrong even if i ve changed the partitions?

Forget Windows 7, it s only been released in a very new raw state for testing purposes and it will contain LOADS of mistakes and bugs. It is NOT to be used as a replacement for Vista and it won t be ready for normal use for another two years. Beta testing is for experts only, who don t need to ask techie questions on this site!

yes !! get acronis disc director it will allow for another partition where partition magic wont then just install your operating system if you install vista make sure its on c drive or primary because xp does not recognise vista and get a easybcd (boot manager) if xp on both partitions go to controlpanel-system-advanced-start up recovery-settings edit and should look something like this i used quot;2 quot;D drive as my default since its newer [boot loader] timeout=10 default=multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partiti... [operating systems] multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(2)\WI... Windows XP Home Editionquot; /noexecute=optin /fastdetect multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WI... Windows XP Home Editionquot; /noexecute=optin /fastdetect

ys but it would remove the windows 7 partition and make your laptop brand new again lol i did the same with linux ubuntu but were are you going to download windws 7 add me on msn liam-smith@msn.com please tell me were you can get windows 7 freeee please cos i wish to do the same lol

Yes, even if you installed windows seven on your c drive, you would still be able to do a factory restore if you have the disk.
