Unless your motherboard and BIOS is capable of doing this then no you can t. OS have to be installed on the main drive so it can access everything directly for a faster response. Also if Vista is such a drag on resources and Windows 7 is even more so you will have a problem with data transfer because a USB port is not fast enough to do it. If you could, it would be like trying to run Vista on 256 Mb of RAM.
No, cause on boot the USB drivers are loaded late in the boot sequence and as the USB drivers aren t loaded Vista can t find it s bits ..
