Internet Explorer 7 upgrade problems...windows stops responding and fails to close, and ideas how to fix this? -

Ever since I ve downloaded the Internet Exployer upgrade to 7.0 from a 6.0 I ve been having problems with windows closing. I click the red box with the X in it to close a window and nothing happens. I open the Windows Task Manager and it shows the program is not responding and I have to close it manually. This happens almost every time, and I can not find a fix for it or get any help from Microsoft without paying $35.00 for the tech support. HELP! FYI===I have Windows XP, I have Gateway with a Celeron processor 200 GHz 248 MB of RAM and I don t use my computer for storage very many files, so I have over half of my hard drive avail.

IE7 still has some bugs in it and might be a headache for a little while. I would go back to internet explorer 6 for the time being until Microsoft can start fixing all the problems its having with IE7. I m sure there will be fixes sometime soon. Your other option is to go with Firefox.

Microsoft is such a caring company aren t they! What you need to do is roll back to Internet Explorer six. Go to add remove programs, in the upper right hand corner of the window that opens place a check in show Microsoft updates. Now scroll through your list until you see IE 7 then delete it. This will take you back to IE 6.

I d recommend that you just switch to Firefox. It is a really great free browser, much faster than IE. It will also import your IE bookmarks and all that stuff. You can have both on your system and use whatever you d like when you like. You do have to choose a quot;default browserquot; which will open when you click on a link in email. After a few weeks I quit using IE altogether.

restore your windows to an earlier point before u install IE7

Go to add remove programs and remove IE-7 this will get you back to IE-6

its too much for your computer, i think you need a new one. your processor its slow, and you dont have enough RAM memory, keep your hard drive. if u cant buy a new one, keep the IE 6, and keep your computer with the basic software you need. yuo might get a good deal on pcs this weekend, go check at best buy or something like that.

Try uninstalling IE7, reboot, then go to the IE7 website and download and reinstall.......IMPORTANTgt;gt;gt;gt; turn OFF antivirus/firewall programs running during installation. Good Luck.

Yep, just uninstall IE7 and IE6 will come back automatically. quot;PEACEquot;

GO BACK to IE 6

the best thing you could do is to uninstall ie7 immediately just click the start button go to control panel go to add or remove programs and then look for ie7 and click remove and then you have to reboot your computer after succesfully uninstalling ie7 good luck
