.NET Framework 4.0 with Windows 7? -

Will .NET 4.0 be shipped with Windows 7, or do you know any plans for a release of 4.0? Thanks,

quot;Microsoft announced the .NET Framework 4.0 on September 29, 2008. While full details about its feature set have yet to be released, some general information regarding the company s plans have been made public. One focus of this release is to improve support for parallel computing, which target multi-core or distributed systems. To this end, they plan to include technologies like PLINQ, a parallel implementation of the LINQ engine, and Task Parallel Library, which exposes parallel constructs via method calls. Microsoft has also stated that they plan to support a subset of the .NET Framework and ASP.NET with the quot;Server Corequot; variant of Windows Server 2008 s successor.quot; Hope that helps.

Windows 7 is well over a year from it s release date. There is no way to tell what will be shipped with it.
