Should Microsoft stop right where they are at with Windows 7 Build 6801? -

The reason I ask this is its as stable as a Final Release, its as fast as XP, a pleasure to use and a million times better than Vista. Build 6801 could even be released as a seperate operating system and people would be more than happy to pay for it as it really that good. All this is unlikely to happen I know so lets hope the Final Release of Windows 7 is not packed with bloatware. LUg.

No, they can t stop. There are STILL issues to resolve with vendor and even their own packages, that are gonna be streamlined in. As much as I look for improvements, I do expect MS s trend with DRM controls to be an even bigger issue with the final release. That being said- I like the idea of what they have, not sure how its gonna fly with conspiracy theorists like me....

6801 still has some compatability issues, Firefox 3 doesn t run properly, and vuze is severely unstable. With BlueBadge, some of the extras are ..... OK at best, so I think some further development is still needed.

It s Microsoft s new operating system, but it s still in beta. Just stick with XP for now. You won t need to upgrade for quite some time.

Windows 7 is microsoft s soon to be released new operating system it is not in general release yet it is still in beta testing Some people would warn you off of Windows 7 because of Vista causing an issue when it came to upgrading your computer as it required so much more power My advise is wait till Windows 7 is released then leave it another year before buying it or buying a new computer with it installed to see if any issues that arise (and that is inevitable with ANY new operating system) then make your choice Windows 7 is its proper name, Vienna and also codenamed blackcomb

its new OS from microsoft.. windows 7 is the code name.. they will rename it later at the time of release.. and yes its still in beta mode. windows 7 will be the first OS ever to support multitouch like the one used in iphones ;).

Can I run my XP partition in Windows 7 in VMWare Workstation? -

I installed Windows 7 (dual boot configuration) a few days ago and I ve grown to really like it. One problem is I don t want to have to boot back and forth between XP and Windows 7 to get all my settings and everything from XP. Is there any way I can run XP in VMWare Workstation? Or generally, can I run a Windows partition as a virtual machine from within another Windows partition (on the same hard drive if that matters)? I know it can be done from within Linux but that doesn t help me. Thanks.

In Windows Vista open quot;My Computerquot; and Click quot;Uninstall or Change a programquot; it will show you all the programs that you have installed. Search for Windows7 in it. Click Uninstall/Change. Follow the instructions. Else you might find it in quot;View Installed Updatesquot;. You can follow the same procedure there also. It will return you to previous state of your operating system.

You don t. Windows 7 is not a program, it s an entire operating system. You replaced Vista with Windows 7 Beta, so the only way to go back to Vista is to reinstall it. I sure hope you backed up all your stuff.

The best way is to uninstall it completely. Load from Vista DVD and install it, that will delete 7.

Hi i was hust wondering if windows 7 was going to be like a whol brand new running system that you would have to buy of if it was an update to fix all the problems with vista?

First of all, Windows 7 is going to be a whole new operating system. Second of all, it s not going to be free of course and you d have to buy it. Plus, what s so wrong with Windows Vista anyway. Service Pack 1 for it fixed many problems. I think the problem now is that people don t like change so all of a sudden they downgrade to XP. The change from XP to Vista is as significant as the change from Windows 3.1 to Windows 95. I m sure people didn t like change at that time but they eventually sucked it up and got the later versions of Windows after 3.1. Same with now. People will eventually suck it up on the changes of Vista and buy that and later versions of Windows.

Windows 7 is the working name for Microsoft s next OS (meaning it s a whole new operating system, not an upgrade). Hopefully it will suck far less than Vista, but I m not counting on it. I gave up on Windows a long time ago.

So i assumed that you are talking abt internet explorer 7 which comes with vista. You have the option to use other browser like mozilla firefox,safari etc

Windows 7 32 bit vs. 64 bit (public Beta)? -

for those of you who dont know the windows 7 Beta has been rlesed for testing until aug 1st my question is. im dowloading the 32bit and 64bit versions. my setup is a dual core 2.6ghz cpu (AM2 Atholon) and i have 3GB of RAM. i know previously that all 64Bit OSs had a max of almost 4GB and that 64BIT OSs can run over 100GB like if i had vista altamit i could max out my Motherboard with 4, 8GB 1024mhz ddr2 memory sticks. its nuts, anyways. will useing the 64BIT version give me an added performance edge over the 32bit even thow my specs dont require it. also, will windows 7 32bit support more than 4GB of RAM.

Any 32-bit OS can only handle 3GB of system memory(RAM included). That means Windows 7 32-bit will only handle 3GB, which is what you have. Downloading and installing Windows 7 64-bit will NOT improve your performance AT ALL unless you have more than 3GB of system memory. Now, if you add another 1GB of RAM to your computer, you should be able to experience the full power of it ONLY if your on Windows 7 64-bit. I have 3GB myself but I downloaded the 64-bit of Windows 7 anyways because I have a video card that has on board memory (512MB). There is a little improvement; like, I can run COD4 ever so slightly faster with more effects and what not, but that was just on my computer with my experience. Just download the 64 bit because it s the same as 32-bit but you look like a person who s gonna upgrade so better be safe then sorry.
