Do you need a touch screen computer for windows 7? -

i have a Gateway M-6862 laptop 4gb Ram intel core2duo 2GhZ Windows XP SP3 non-touch-screen will windows 7 work on my laptop i have a copy but dont know if i should install it or not thanks in advance

Wouldnt make much sense for microsoft to put out an OS that only worked on a touch screen, they wouldnt sell very many copies...

You will not need a touch screen. Only issues you may have are driver compatibility related. If you know what you re doing, go for it

What do you think of windows 7? -

and what is your thoughts on open source for enterprise?

Hello Everyone- My name is Jeff and I work alongside the Windows Outreach Team. Thank you catilee for posting this question and getting a conversation started about Windows 7 Beta. Many of you offered interesting feedback. If you are a Beta tester be sure to utilize the “Send Feedback” tab that is found on top of open windows and let Microsoft what you like and what should be changed before the final version is released. Lastly I would like to share a few resources for you all to improve your Windows 7 Beta experience. Cheers, Jeff Windows Outreach Team http://i.gizmodo.com/5131933/giz-explain... http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windows... http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Foru...

About Windows-7 I agree with someone on ZDNet who said it should be made available free of charge to all Vista owners as quot;warranty replacementquot;. In general I despise Microsoft s products pricing. In my country of over 220 million people with growing percentage each day becoming pc-literate I don t understand why Microsoft still sticks to its current quot;pricing policyquot; that makes using their products potentially doubles or even triples the cost of owning a well running personal system. On the other hand open source (free GPL or the like) for enterprise is only good if it would mean better funneling of the enterprise s thus bigger earnings for better welfare of the workers, not the owners, directly or indirectly.

Windows 7 sounds like a great product on all the reviews I read. The problems with Vista were 1) It was a memory hog, Windows 7 is not. 2) Vista has issues with some programs, Windows 7 does not. Windows 7 has a completely new look and feel. Windows 7 will be the true upgrade to XP. I build computers for customers, no one wants Vista, they all want XP. Finally a new OS from Microsoft. Now I hope there will not be like five flavors like the Vista offering. In XP there is only XP Home and XP Pro, hopefully Windows 7 will be the same, hopefully. I really love Open Source, I have Office 97 and I use Open Office 3.0 Word and the spreadsheet. I like them alot and I can save them in major file types including .doc and .xls

Windows 7 is Windows Vista with a few extras. Windows Vista is a polished turd, so Windows 7 has a second coat of polish on the same turd. I think that open source is ready for the enterprise, but there are too many enterprises sucking from the Microsoft teat.

Extreme offenses! *Is this a sentence? This doesn t inform the reader where your thoughts begin and end. quot;what ARE your thoughts ON window 7quot; it may not seem like a big deal, but I for one looked at your question and couldn t get past the errors to answer it. I mean this is a forum to COMMUNICATE so grammar counts!

Windows 7? I think Windows rushed to bring out Vista, and screwed up. Then they rushed to bring out Windows 7, thinking it ll fix their problems. I m sticking with OS X and Xandros. I love open source, but, for enterprise, I really have no idea.

it is great, i recently installed it and i LOVE it, everything is compatible now. As for open-source, i think its great for enterprise since they update alot to keep things up-to-date.

I like Windows 7 a lot, Im dual booting it on my laptop and its very fast and stable. A very great beta. When it comes out officially im going to buy it.

My Vista failed to upgrade to Windows 7 :(

I believe microsoft will make a great product as they usually do. And i am sure it will be a great follow up to vista

i like vista

How to stop error message on windows 7{ ERROR 628}? -

i GOT A COPY OF WINDOWS 7 AND I INSTALLED IT ON MY PC , NOW WHEN I TRY TO CONNECT TO THE INTERNET THE MASAGE ERROR 628 COMES I HAVE A ADSL MODEM AND IT WORKED ON VISTA I TRYED ALLTHAT I CAN DO PLEES SOMBODY HELP ME!

Wait for the service pack... new releases are always full of bugs that guinea pigs like yourself pay money to test out.

My Windows 7 found my LAN instantly and I m running Windows 7 as I answer this question. My laptop is on a dual boot configuration Vista/Windows 7

How to delete Windows 7trade; From dual booting.? -

Do I got a windows 7 beta and well. I don t like it. So I want to delete it. I tried to format drive but it said it is in use and cant format :\ What do I do?

delete the partition why don t you like windows 7 i like it it is like vista but faster

Boot to your other operating system (not Windows 7) and format the Windows 7 partition from there. You can t format a hard drive while the OS is using it. I though Windows 7 was great, though. Not quite as good as XP, but MUCH better than Vista. I used a virtual machine, though, to test it. So much easier! VMWare

Windows 7 Build 6801? -

I have a Hp tx2510us running on Windows Vista. I wanted to install Windows 7 and was wondering if the touch interface will still be supported on the upgrade?

I have a copy , and yes it is touchscreen capable. I rather like it, cant wait for the real release.

I doubt it, man... Windows 7 is still in Alpha testing. I wouldn t mess with it if you are trying to run a functional tablet/laptop. If you re testing (like people who install Alpha and Beta versions are supposed to be doing), just go for it and you tell US if it works... haha

If you have copy of the Alpha build of Windows 7, Install it and find out... I don t think anyone here will be able to answer your question as to the fact very few people have a copy of the test OS... Good Luck!

yes it is but you have to understand its pre beta very early stage in devopment make another partition and install it there to make shure t works well

I downloaded windows 7 @ now music is muffed sounds slow? -

That is to be expected when beta testing an Operation System. Did you expect anything less/more???

lol, windows 7 isnt out yet the one you have is the Beta one, and it is the working version.so it isnt the real one, sorry

All you need to know about windows 7 http://news.cnet.com/Windows-7-Moving-be...

The answer is simply that the OS is not yet fully compatible to all drivers and it s probably assigning generic drivers to your sound card, causing the muffled sound.

i THINK THAT YOUR PC IS TOO OLD FOR WINDOWS 7 For more info you can this page: http://www.computersafetytip.com

thats not really a question...its a statement.

I does anyone like the Windows explorer 7? -

I don t like the button layout. It seems slower. I don t get this quot;Tabsquot; thing. I want to switch back to number 6. Is that safe?

I actually like it but yes you can go back to IE6 if that is really what you want. Just remember IE7 will soon be here to stay. So after I took a few days to get the hang of it I fell in love with it. I also think it is a lot faster than IE6. I have read that a few people also think it is slower than IE6 but I really think that it is what you have running on your computer or if any of your badwith is being used by any other applications. I actually like IE7 a lot better than the Firefox everybody raves about, crappy and slow compared to IE7, for me anyway.

well, if you try all the available browsers you will see not all of them is perfect but they all have some great unique features. IE is good for something, Opera is good for another and Firefox for another and so on..... I use all of them..... (IE 7 is way better than IE6) Syeef Bin Mohammad http://www.cyberhosted.com

You can switch back to 6 if you want to be extremely vulnerable. There are reasons for upgrading. Not just because people think it looks cooler. Brandon

IE sucks. All of them. Use Firefox. Take this for example - quot;The Washington Post reports that exploit code for critical unpatched security vulnerabilities in Internet Explorer was available for 284 days in 2006. In comparison, exploit code for critical security vulnerabilities in Firefox was available for 9 days before Mozilla shipped a patch to remedy the problem.quot;

I love it, it s a lot better, and btw you don t have to use tabs, just change it s options, make it work for you! Hope this helps (:
