How good is Windows 7? -

I have Windows Vista and it sucks! I am thinking about upgrading to the new Windows 7 beta. What are the pros and cons to doing this. I know its in its beta phase, so what are the glitches and bugs and what are the benefits? Thanks for everyone s help

No, don t upgrade to a beta, it s not that good enough, it s like XP beta with Vista beta combined. Wait till you see the full version, it s like it has XP performance and with Vista look. Dream coming true. ;)

It s a beta, it shouldn t be used in a production environment. Wait for the final release candidate to come out before you upgrade.

Using Explorer 7 I get blank pop up windows? -

Even without clicking ona link I get blank pop up windows. The tab says quot;connecting...quot; and has nothing in the address. Just blank and nothing happens. In the time it has taken me to type this,5 windows have opened in the bottom tray. I have tried running Spybot-SD and superantispyware. Any suggestions would be greatly appreiciated.

sometimes you don t notice that a specific button on the keyboard had been pressed and that s the result why it displays a blank page. most cases it will be pressing ctrl + T (control + tab = new window) like an outblank in the address bar. that is a new window open beside the original page you had opened. to get back the original page, click the page at the left of it.

This often happens in IE 7. One thing that may help is to refresh the page. Some times the content will appear.

How to uninstall vista and install windows 7? -

Hi i m running vista now on my hp pavilion dv2000 laptop, i want to uninstall vista and install windows 7. Or keep vista and move everything to windows 7 (use that as my primary). I m also planning on have ubuntu on another partition. How do i do this? I ve tried shrinking the volume size my vista is on but i cant free up more than 18gigs, and i ve read its recommended that windows 7 have 30gigs atleast. If i understand correctly i shrink the vista volume, load windows 7 cd, then how do i remove all my stuff from vista onto windows 7? thank you

If you have an ISO of windows 7 then boot up with that cd, and load from DVD and its gonna ask to choose partition.Choose and install. Everything you have on that partition will be gone tho.

If you want to save your documents you have 2 choices - shrink the Windows partition and move all your documents to the 19 gig partition you can make, or move all your documents to an external drive. If you install 7 as the only operating system you ll wipe out anything on the partition you install it to, and to dual-boot it with Vista, you need a larger drive.

Vista has the capability to do this as far as I know, if Win7 is like Vista as MS says. It just depends if you have enough space on your computer. And just because you can t see anything on the other partition that came with the PC, does not mean that there is not important recovery informationquot;image(s)quot; on that drive. Mfrs put image file on PCs for recovery of you OS and they hide them from the OS s windows explorer so people won t delete them cuz they don t think they need them. RE: jimobasa2. You better hope your PC mfr did not do this, and if so you better have made recovery CD/DVDs or your screwed.

You can use VMware and run it inside of windows on a virtual machine without even partitioning your hard drive.

My Toshiba laptop is running Vista and Windows 7. My laptop came with an extra partition (Drive) labelled Data. Having checked and found absolutely nothing on it, I installed Windows 7 on it and it has been running sweet for ten days now. Vista has a built-in partitioning tool.

Dual booting vista and windows 7? -

my friend tried dual booting windows vista and windows XP and ran into problems even though they where on deferent partitions(vista deleting the boot files of XP)...and i was wondering if i might run into the same problem if i dual boot windows 7 on my vista pc

I did it and it works fine for me.

As long as you setup windows setting up bios to boot up from cd and choose setup windows in second partitioned drive you should be ok.

it becomes your new system friend. i wouldnt bother though, it is even more resource hungry than vista and in my personal opinion (i had it for a week(last week)) it is not very good at all. they have tried to make it really easy to use, but now it is too easy to use, if you get me, it has become very confusing
