Windows 7 install graphical corruption ? -

Thought id give windows 7 beta a whirl. Have a spare hd, good pc (dual core cpu, dx10 graphics, 2gig ram etc), downloaded beta, got key for it, burned iso to dvd. Put dvd in, reboot pc, starts through install process, the windows logo comes up (the fancy little graphical effect), then shortly after screen goes black, then (well, as best i can describe), squidgy corruption, abit like strange tv interference or something, then nothing. i wait, and nothing. Anyhow, question is i guess, has this happened to anyone ? and any ideas what to try ? could it be a crap burn to dvd and i should try again? any thoughts welcome!

Is it possible to restart the computer to factory settings and try again? if so then try that and give it another whirl. :)

I m running Win7 too. I didn t have any video problems, but I had network and sound driver issues. But oonce I had it up and running and got that first network connection Windows Update handled the bad drivers for me. The drivers were not on the distribution beta iso. If you have another video card of any kind, any thing, put that in the machine and give it a whirl. And you might try burning the iso again. That could be the problem. One thing I did notice about my install was that the dvd didn t access like you would expect, but I discounted that to the fact that I have 4 gigs of memory and thought that maybe the iso loaded totally to memory. It was a quite silent installation compared to XP. Win 7 is a Vista clone with some really cool upgrades. It s more like Service Pack 3 for Vista than a totally new OS, so far.

i have that same problem when booting it but it eventually finishes and then the os is fine im not sure what causes it or how to fix it but it is rather annoying
