Are there any Windows 7 Drivers? -

I just installed the new Windows 7 (Beta) on a virtual machine partitioned on my computer (using VMWare). Everything is working fine, except I cannot connect to the internet. I ve narrowed the problem down to my WLAN (wireless local area network) Adapter. Windows 7 doesnt recognize my WLAN Adapter because the driver only supports up to Windows Vista. Does anyone know a way to fix this? I dont think they have many drivers available that are compatable with Windows 7 yet because the Beta just came out a week ago.

Since you installed Windows 7 in your virtual machine you can use the NAT(VMware network settings) to access the internet as long as your host OS is connected to the internet, your windows7 can do the same.

The Vista drivers will work - If the install program says it won t work with your version of operating system, install them using the compatibility mode.

I had the same problem with a USB WLAN device. I used the most recent drivers which worked with Vista and they were fine. In most cases if you have Vista or even XP drivers, give them a try. Get a disk with the latest drivers and have windows 7 install them for you. You can do that through the troubleshooting application. Note: you do not need to use a compatability mode if they are vista drivers - I didn t.

install Windows 7 beta in Virtual PC 2007, make sure that you apply the service pack to Virtual PC 2007
