Microsoft Windows 7 Build 6801 question? -

i have Xp installed on my laptop. I want to install windows 7 build to see what it is like. Will this newly install wipe all my computer data away such as programs, music, pictures and docs????

I am running Windows 7 (Build 6801) and I must say it is outstanding. It is a pre-beta build so I would recommend if you have a spare PC and Hard Drive then carry out a dedicated installation. Alternatively if this is not an option you will need to partition your drive so you don t screw your XP installation I recommend GParted http://gparted.sourceforge.net/ Another alternative would be installing it on a virtual machine, I recommend VirtualBox http://www.virtualbox.org/ however doing it this way you would not be getting all that Windows 7 has to offer and performance would be poor. LUg.

if you create a new partition in diskpart you can use a small partition to install windows 7. and then dual boot it. thats the best way to do things when doing research and development.
