It is out in Beta right now It is due to be release for general use sometime at the end of this year. most probably in Sept. 09.... It will more than likely run somewhere in the $ 199 to $ 249 range in price.... depending on whether Basic or Premium.... And... personally... there is NO operating system that is worth a damn dime until it is into its SP 2 release... this is the stage where most all of the bugs are done in ... and the system is down to quot;smooth sailingquot;..... Since the beta version is scheduled to expire in August, I would have to think it would be ready by then. As far as is it worth it, that depends on whether or not you like Vista. If you re happy with Vista, there really no reason to upgrade. Vista won t immediately be outdated. XP, after all, is about 8 years old and there are millions of people still using it. I have no idea what the price would be. Do yourself a huge favor and take a look at Ubuntu or some other linux OS. They are better, more secure, more stable, and totally FREE. Sure there s a learning curve, but it s worth it. I dual boot my computer. I load Windows only for software I can t get to run on linux, for everything else I use Ubuntu. Best of luck.
