Windows 7 32 bits or 64 bits? -

My computer spec are as follow: Intel Core 2 Duo 2.66GHz GeForce 9800 GTX+ (512 mb, 256-bit) 4GB RAM 320 GB Sata HDD I heard that 32bits only support till 3Gb of RAM, is t true? Will there any software or hardware incompatible issues happen? Will games run slow in 64 bits (which I experienced in Vista Ultimate 64 bits previously) So should install Windows 7 32 bits or 64 bits according to my comp specs with the current RAM? If plan to upgrade the RAM in future, so which bit suit?

It s not exactly true that 32-bits will only support 3GBs of RAM. Technically, 32-bit can support up to 4GBs of RAM. However, that includes video RAM, pagefiles, and other computer memory. As such, you tend to only be able to use about 3GBs of RAM in a 32-bit environment. If you want to use all 4GBs of your RAM, go 64-bit.

NVIDIA has FINALLY released 64-bit drivers (I have an 8400 and am rejoicing), so your game issues should be resolved. If you think about it, your processor is designed for 64-bit. Imagine a water pipeline. If you only turn it on halfway, you only get half the things done. If you can turn it on completely, you get twice the speed. Windows 64 would normally turn on that pipe, except for when 32-bit apps run, it slows it down. Your computer is completely 64-bit friendly, your overall improvement will depend upon your usage. Since you appear to be a gamer (nice videocard BTW), i d say you get some improvement, since most games are 32-bit.

hmm thats weird, i have windows ultimate 32 bit and i also heard that 32 bit OS s only support 4 gb of ram but i just finished making my computer yesterday and i have windows ultimate 32 bit and it showed all 4gb of my ram, i guess for some people its like 3.50/4 or 3.15/4 etc but for me its 4/4 gb of ram, might not be the same for you

if you have vista 64 you have to use windows 64 or 32 use 32 http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/windo...

they should all work
