Windows 7 beta install? -

I got the windows 7 public beta here: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/evalc... and i want to install it on my main computer without loosing any data or anything. I have windows vista ultimate.... i know it says to install on a strictly testing computer but i don t have an extra computer... is i possible to partion the hard drive and install it on the smaller part that i make for it with out interfering with any of my other data? how do i do that? last thing: i heard that it might do something to my mp3s and i have a lot so would it still do that if i had the partitioned hard drive?

Yes, technically you could install it on a separate partition or drive. You also will need a boot manager, so you can designate which partition/OS to boot to. If you are uncomfortable with this process, you are most likely not a good BETA candidate. The idea is to get people that are at least marginally technical to review and critique the software and help work out the bugs, NOT just to let everyone have a shot at Microsoft s latest gee whiz product... If you can t help with the beta process, you are (potentially) wasting a chance for someone else to do so

ok... i got it to work on my own...... Report Abuse
