Can you download Windows 7 BETA to a cd not a dvd? -

Can you download Windows 7 BETA and copy it to a cd to make an Operating system cd or do you have to do it to a dvd?

Just dvd. Not really worth it though, too many bugs/freezes that need to be worked out. I would wait for beta 2.

If you don t have access to a DVD burner to burn Windows 7 to, you can try using ISO mounting software. Try using CloneDVD: http://static.slysoft.com/SetupCloneDVD.... You will need to restart your computer after installation even though it doesn t tell you to. Once you are done restarting, double-click on the Virtual Clone Drive shortcut and put a checkmark in the quot;Virtual Sheepquot; checkbox, and set the quot;Number of Drivesquot; to at least quot;1quot;. You can now go to My Computer and right-click on the Virtual CloneDrive and go to quot;Virtual CloneDrive gt; Mountquot; and locate your Windows 7 ISO and the install should load up. If it doesn t load, double click on the Virtual CloneDrive in My Computer and click on the setup.

Nope but I have a better solution For you =D You don t need to use a CD, or DVD for that matter. Check it out. Download WinRar. (http://www.rarlab.com/rar/wrar380.exe) Install it. Make sure everything is closed and all files are backed up. Download Windows 7 beta .iso Right click on that file. Select extract to (file name) Open the folder Double click the setup file. And it installs Trust me I did it and am running Windows 7 right now. I hope this helps Good Luck Gumby If you have any questions feel free to e-mail me.

it is 2.44 gb so no dvd only. You could modify a flash drive to boot first into the windows 7 installer incase you dont have a dvd drive just google it.

if its an iso file, you can always use a virtual mount to use the file, for example demon tools, google it.

it ain t gonna fit!!! Microsoft = Bloatsville why do you think they require you to buy a new pc everytime they upgrade their OS!!!

It s too big for a CD, you have to put it on a DVD.
