Im trying Windows 7, do you think itll run on this pc? -

I m trying Windows 7 Beta. It has similar requirments to Vista. I want to run it on this pc: Intel Celeron 668 Mhz processor 768 MB RAM (not shared with graphics card) 30+ GB HDD Older ATI Xpert 128 Dedicated graphics card I think it has a VIA motherboard, It was a very good pc when it came out (1999/2000). I have a better pc but don t want to touch it. Will it work? Has anybody ran it on a pc with similar specs? I don t care about it being slow as long as it ll run.

Minimum recommended specs call for: *1 GHz 32-bit or 64-bit processor 1 GB of system memory 16 GB of available disk space Support for DirectX 9 graphics with 128 MB memory (to enable the Aero theme) *DVD-R/W Drive Internet access (to download the Beta and get updates) I recommend you don t install windows 7 on your computer, also it might now even install on your computer because your system is too low to even run it.

Looking at your specs. it would indicate that performance of Windows Vista and Windows 7 would be very poor. Windows XP would most likely run quite well. If you were to install Windows 7 on that PC, performance would be so impaired you would not be getting an accurate impression of the the system. LUG.

Just don t download it at all please.... Dont I did and 10 minutes later yep you guessed it ... CRASH

7 is supposed to run on Netbooks, so it may be a bit slow on a 668MHz CPU, but it should run.
