Is Windows 7 beta lightweight? -

I m thinking about installing it on my laptop, but am worried that it s going to be slower than Vista. Does it run smoother and quicker than Vista?

Definitely. I am running a 69xx build with the new taskbar enabled, and on my laptop, it feels great. Granted, I really liked Vista, just as much as XP, and more so than OSX, but I now hate booting into it on the same machine. This feels like how the replacement to XP should have felt. As long as you have the hard drive (the only high requirement - something like 20GB total, with like 10 going to OS), you should have no issues.

yes it is faster than vista but looks a lot like vista which is good so people won t have problems learning all over again it is beta and still has problems if you install it do it on a different partition gt;dual boot http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/windo...

I ll also be trying it soon. Supposedly, Windows 7 will cut down on a lot of the bloatware and run pretty quickly, even if you don t have tons of RAM or a screaming processor.

I d expect it to be about the same as Vista, but I haven t tried it personally. I can t afford to put a self-destructive OS on my main computer.

it does run way smoother than vista but you need atleast 1 gig of ram and dont install it on your main comp as your main os because it expires august 1st

it could work but i like vista beater
