I recommend that you set up a dual-boot configuration. That way, you can choose the operating system that you boot into (Windows 7 versus whatever you have now). You will need to reinstall all of your software within Windows 7, unless you perform the in-place upgrade. However, I do not recommend the in-place upgrade, because you will need to reinstall everything from scratch in August when the beta expires.
I m using it on a secondary PC, just to test it. I think it s really great, to be honest. If you install the W7 Beta, yes, you will have to install all of your software again. W7 doesn t come with it installed; it doesn t know what software you ve already been using.
From what I ve heard 7 isn t that great, so going to all that trouble of reinstalling software doesn t seem like it s worth it.
