The simple answer is you shouldn t- especially if you don t have experience with a beta. If you re happy with Vista there really isn t any reason to upgrade. I know I m happy with Vista, and unless Microsoft offers me a good deal to Upgrade to Windows 7, I m not going to do so. And Tiger, just FYI, SP1 for Vista was released almost a year ago. And the whole W7=Vista crap got old- a LONG time ago.
Hi sldrjr, I’m Ron. I work with the Windows Outreach Team. I just wanted to take a minute and drop some information here that might help you with your situation. Like was mentioned before, Windows 7 is in Beta testing form as of right now. That means it isn’t meant to be a permanent replacement for your existing OS in its current form. The current build is being tested until Aug. 1, 2009, at which time it will deactivate and users will be able to return to their previous OS or install the released version of Windows 7 (given that it is ready for market). If you’re interested in taking part in the Beta, I’d suggest visiting http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windows... first to get an idea of what Windows 7 has to offer. From there you can navigate to download and get install information. Hope this gives a little insight into your situation. Cheers, Ron Windows Outreach Team
windows 7beta ends 8-1-2009 then you will have to go back to vista yes windows7beta is faster than vista but it is still being tested i like it as well as vista and i have it on a dual boot with vista
Don t install any Microsoft software until after service pack 2 is released. Windows 7 is actually SP1 for Vista. Don t touch it.
you shouldn t get the beta if you have no experience beta testing beta = still in testing not a complete os
