Why is Microsoft working on Windows 7 when they havent even worked out problems with Vista? -

Vista has lots of bugs and incompatibility issues. Why is MS already working on Windows 7 when they haven t even fixed the current OS?

I am guessing that it is because of the bad publicity that Vista has gotten. MS probably feels that Vista is a slippery slope best left alone, and hopes that Windows 7 will be the next Windows XP.

Windows Vista is the buggiest version of windows and I m using it right now they ve been working on windows seven before the release of windows vista and windows vista is a rushed and no effort version of windows..... Windows 7 is by far 100% faster than vista and the bootup times on windows 7 are faster even than xp!!!! so yeah windows seven is set to be released on the second half of 2009 and its an apple killer by that I mean leopard killer because windows 7 is the best version of windows ever made. YES its better than XP Edit: Windows vista is not so buggy any more since the release of the service pack 1 but its still lacks performance.

Because Vista is already a bust, and no matter how much they fix it up, no matter how much makeup and lipstick, it ll still be a pig. Business has already found out there s not much difference between XP amp; Vista, so why go thru the trauma of upgrading to Vista when all you get is poor performance. Even when they get the bugs and fixes in, who wants to buy an Edsel; the name is already tainted. So the logical thing for Microsoft to do is dress it up in new clothes, put more lipstick on it, and name it something catchy like Windows 7, and try to sell it again in 2010.

That is because it is not feasible to quot;fixquot; Vista which also has VERY LOW adoption with users after 2 years so it is more sense to try and get Windows 7 right. Microsoft may have all the money in the world but they will NEVER be able to fix Vista - it is just too much of a heap of spaghetti code as well as very poor 3rd party driver compatibility and usuability.

So they can force you to buy windows 7 like they did with Vista from XP, and forced people to buy XP from Windows ME, They want your money so they force you to buy the next version of windows when it comes out thats why people are moving to Linux (Open Source Software) Free Operating System and Software and for those that don t know better they have moved to the Mac Operating System check out the websites below if you want something better than windows Vista, or windows 7 ffor FREE

It s called multi-tasking with different teams working on different projects. Vista service pack 2 is coming in April. Windows 7 fixed most of the stuff Vista has issues with and in my experience, Vista is now a decent OS.

They are always working on the next version. That does not mean that they are ignoring Vista development. They do have more that one member of staff you know!

the short answer is Microsoft has more or less given up on Vista.
