you should be able to. to boot from a usb, you need to go into your computers bios by pressing F2 at startup and change the boot menu from the internal hard drive to the usb. but this is assuming you have the correct size flash drive. the min reqs for the Windows 7 beta is 16 gigs hard drive space. you can view all of the reqs here: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/evalc... you can download it from this site as well. one thing you might want to try is getting a program for a virtual computer. it will let you run and install windows 7 on it, with out disrupting your current comp. just my 2 cents
Linux, Windows 7 or other operating systems can be installed on a USB hard drive and you can boot from the removable drive if your computer s bios will allow you to set it as the boot drive... Some older motherboards, do not offer this option to boot from removable media (USB Hard Drive or Memory stick)... I would have a look in your Motherboard manual, that could be downloaded from the manufactures website. If you do not know the manufacture of your motherboard, then download a copy of quot;CPUzquot; a small software utility that will give you the information... APC has a good dual boot tutorial that you might be able to use for a software solution. http://apcmag.com/the_definitive_dualboo...
Hello Nothing, you can turn any USB into a Windows7 boot installer. There is a really good guide with instructions on how to do so, found at this link: http://www.downloadsquad.com/2009/01/14/... . Take a look there and if that doesn’t help, feel free to visit the Microsoft TechNet forums and post over there, you are likely to get a better answer to your questions. http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Foru... I don t see why not. Just change it in your BIOS to boot from your USB first and you should be good to go. I ve always been skeptical of it though for the fact of USB speeds.....but I may be wrong.
Not that I know of, but I don t see why not, you can try though.
