Will a laptop with windows 7 cost more than one with vista? -

I m thinking about wether or not I should wait for windows 7 to buy a laptop, or just buy one with vista now. Take a $800 laptop with vista right now, and take that same computer, but with windows 7 when it comes out, will they charge me more for that same laptop, but has windows 7? (Ps. What happened with prices compared to XP, when vista came out?)

The prices don t really change. Microsoft wants to promote their newest operating system, so they don t charge manufacturers more for the newest OS. In some cases, they actually charge more for the older one. This was the case at least at one point with XP, as Microsoft was trying to force people to adopt Vista. A laptop with the same specs won t cost more with one or the other, but you may need a machine with higher specs to run Windows 7. On the other hand, if you get one with Vista and want to upgrade to Windows 7, you will have to pay extra for that upgrade.

In Australia the price of XP and Vista machines were the same (unless you wanted Ultimate), I dont know what will happen in the states, but new software always has more bugs than the time tested stuff. But Windows 7 is really only Vista refined and more stuff added so its hard to say. I have been running Windows 7 Beta and have had no problems, but I didnt have any problems with Vista, in fact (except that it loads a bit quicker) it feels the same.

windows 7 beta avail now na. so to sell the complete tested version it take a while. so if ur planing for a new one get it now. if u wait till windows 7 . at that time may be laptop all using corei7 quadcore (intel) processors n 3GB DDR3 or 1GB DDR5 ram. when vista come to action, for cost of xp pro vista home(some version) was avail to market. so does it may be for windows 7. the xp pro is not selling any more. it is available through only some standard manufactures like dell,hp etc with their standard models only. hope there will not be much driver problems with windows 7 like vista all the best

it will be same price, they just lower the prices for vista computer And no longer install vista for any new laptops and desktops for sale.

no it shouldnt cuz ur forced to get it if u think about it... u only gonna get microsoft anyhow no matter what u buy or u buy it from so the answer is no. :)
