Restoring windows vista from windows 7? -

I instaledl windows 7 on my computer a few days ago, and I chose quot;upgradequot;, all my vista files are in quot;windows.oldquot;. here comes the question: I don t want windows 7 and I want vista back, but how?

If you install Windows 7 over the Vista partition, you will have to reinstall vista because you basically overwrote it. Please note - I don t think anyone has gotten that far, since the Beta build doesn t expire till August 1, 2009. (Or 120 days if you didn t get a beta key)

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/933168 Try what it says in the link. If you follow what it says carefully it should bring you back to vista. Now this is really meant for restoring from vista but Windows 7 is just vista with a different feel. As shado says no one has really gone that far yet but its either this or reinstall from scratch.

Hi 64’ GRAVISSIMA, My name’s Ron and I am a member of the Windows Outreach Team. I thought I might jump in here and try to help out. First, you’re going to want to locate your backup discs that you made before the Windows 7 installation. If you don’t have those, try making discs containing your important files and such, just in case. For info on removing and reinstalling your previous 0S, check out this link: http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windows... You’re going to want to do a clean custom (clean) installation. Hope this helps! Cheers, Ron Windows Outreach Team
