Can I install Windows 7 on an empty hard drive partition? -

I want to install Windows 7 beta on my laptop and I have my entire D drive empty, is there a way of installing windows 7 on that partition without affecting the drive with vista on it?

tonyk- Hi, my name s Cody, and I m working with the Windows Outreach Team to help answer questions folks might have about their copy of the Windows 7 Beta. If you re looking to dual boot your copy of Windows Vista with the Windows 7 Beta, I d recommend checking out this easy to follow guide: http://lifehacker.com/5126781/how-to-dua... It ll walk you through the process. Good luck! Thanks, Cody Windows Outreach Team

yeah sure, but becarefull cuz windows vista doesnt allow two windows at the same time ,i think it will allow that but you will get some errors on the way, i personally suggest to you not to install windows 7,bcuz it is beta

Yes, and you can choose when you want to boot from Vista or Windows 7. Just put Vista on C and Windows 7 on D. :)
