How would Windows 7 run on my computer? -

I have a quite outdated computer, but I want to try out the Windows 7 beta. Here are my system specs: CPU: Celeron 2.00GHz RAM: 1GB DDR2 GPU: ATI Radeon X300 128MB I can run vista fine, but it s slower than my XP. Will this OS do better than Vista? I don t expect it to be faster than XP, I just want to try all the new features and get the feel of it so I can decide if I should put Vista or 7 when I get a new PC.

Looking at the specs of your system, I would not under any circumstances currently attempt to run Windows 7. The minimum RAM requirement is going to be 1GB, and you will need a GPU which is capable of 128MB onboard. However, as I have a friend on the Beta testing panel for W7, he has advised me that to get the best possible use from it, you will need at least 8GB of RAM, and a GPU capable of coping with DX10 with room to spare. If you intend to run Windows 7 smoothly, you are going to need to make some serious improvements to your system in its present state.

if you install it dual boot and read all the instructions gt;and yes it is faster than vista and both are far better and more stable than xp Minimum recommended specs call for: 1 GHz 32-bit or 64-bit processor 1 GB of system memory 16 GB of available disk space Support for DirectX 9 graphics with 128 MB memory (to enable the Aero theme) DVD-R/W Drive Internet access (to download the Beta and get updates) http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windows...

By many testimonies off www.notebookreview.com, people claim better battery lives on their notebooks, faster load times, and a numerous improvements from switching to Windows 7. So yeah, i m pretty confident that 7 would do better than vista =D
