When will Windows 7 be released to the public? -

I want to buy a new computer with Windows 7. My XP is getting old.

Windows 7 beta released to testers, public beta coming tomorrow

well they are saying that it well be released in 2010 but at the moment there is only beta versions which is what i have got and to be fair it is still vista just has been made to look different and there is still allot for ms to tweak but all in all i think windows 7 is quicker and has better features to offer then vista

quot;My XP is getting old.quot; It s still way better than Vista. And, Windows 7 is built on the Vista kernel. Only time will tell if W7 will be worth the wait! As stated above, you can upgrade from Vista to W7 for free on PCs purchased after June (or July?) 2009. Then, you can decide if W7 is even an option, but the downside is having to use Vista until then. So, stick with XP, or give the free Freespire Linux a try, it s very much like XP.

The time limited, experimental, beta version will be released today. The finished version will probably be sometime in 2010. Computers bought with Windows Vista after June 2009 will get a free upgrade to Windows 7 when it is released.

Last time I checked my mail it was today. I am a Beta tester though, so I already have it. =Checked mail= No news, so probably today for U.S. anyhow, this is just a Beta, so do not expect it to be on computers until in about a year or so.

according to microsoft, today sometime (jan 9) probably around noon
